Wishing you all a very nice day! Today, I am here to share my next TBS product with all of you which is a gift from my hubby. He is really an unpredictable guy who never complimented me for my makeup, but on the contrary, has surprised me with all new makeup stuff now. I was really jumping with joy when he gifted me a pair of eye shadows and an eyeliner from TBS on Valentine’s Day 😛 Please read on further to know about The Body Shop Eye Colour in Burnished Brown.

Heart Inside: Our Community Fair Trade marula oil comes from the Eudafano Women’s Co-operative in Namibia. Marula fruits are hand-selected, the nuts are extracted and dried in the sun. The kernels are cold-pressed to release the oil. By setting up their own factory, the 5,000 women members have gained entrepreneurial skills and, they tell us, a newfound self-esteem.
It comes in a small, cute, see-through round packaging with shade number and ingredient list printed at the bottom. It’s travel friendly and really cute packaging overall.
My Experience with The Body Shop Eye Colour Matte – Burnished Brown:
Well, I never knew that TBS also owns cosmetics till my hubby gifted me these little cute goodies. However, I was a little disappointed initially as I hardly know the art of eye makeup, anyhow considering IMBB eye makeup tutorials, I consoled my heart and accepted these goodies wholeheartedly! Nowadays, I am always busy creating different eye looks though my hubby faints whenever I stand in front of him 😐
Coming back to the review, Burnished Brown is kind of cocoa mixed golden brown shade with light shimmer; although the TBS site claims it to be a matte one, strange! What I like most about this eyeshadow is that its quite pigmented with slight shimmery satin finish on eyelids. I was initially hesitant to wear it outside, but it’s a subtle and natural shade on eyes and one hardly notices anything except for bright highlighted eyes. I myself felt a beautiful change in my eyes after just sweeping it on my bare eyes without any mascara and eyeliner. As you all know, I am novice in makeup, especially eye makeup, I was also worried if it’s going to irritate my eyes as I have never used eye products on my eyes except for eyeliners. But thankfully, nothing happened to my skin and I truly loved the makeover.
Learning from IMBB tutorials, I am practicing eye make up regularly at home for which I use white or silver on brow bone and this shade all over lid and on lower lash line which instantly brightens up my dull face. Thanks to all IMBBians who gave their active contribution towards eye tutorials so that novices like me can learn.
It has a perfect satin finish I must say. If I am able to wear it perfectly, then one may guess that the product texture would be really good. I never found any difficulty in blending this eye color on the crease or the lids honestly speaking! I just sweep the brush lightly in the eyeshadow pot and then slightly apply it over lids and its all set. However, its average staying power may cause an issue when I may wear it for any overnight function or party. It would have been great if they offered more quantity at the same price. It is not a water proof eye color, but still remains intact in one rinsing session and thankfully it is very easy and gets softly removed, does not require a makeup remover. Just sweep rose water or olive oil gently over the eyes or wait till 8-10 hours, it will fade away by itself. I am literally loving the final makeover, though still not confident to wear it outside. I would recommend it to every age group and skin tone. It is such an universal, natural shade which instantly brightens up the whole face!
Let’s sum up the pros and cons:
Pros of The Body Shop Eye Colour Matte – Burnished Brown:
- Beautiful cocoa mixed golden brown shade with light shimmers.
- It has very natural satin finish.
- Does not irritate eyes or skin.
- Gentle enough to be used on water line.
- Easily washes away or fades away after 8-10 hours.
- Its super easy to blend on crease or apply all over eyelids.
- This particular Burnished Brown shade instantly brightens up the face.
- It does not settle in creases.
Cons of The Body Shop Eye Colour Matte – Burnished Brown:
- TBS says this particular shade is matte though it’s not actually, it does contain light shimmers.
- It does have slight fall out, though hardly noticeable.
- Less quantity at the price.
- Shade is never mentioned in any eye color packaging, they just specify shade number, one has to open TBS site to know about the shade details.
Even though it has a few cons, I love it and I feel its great for novices like me with super blendable color and soft texture. However, I will think twice thrice before purchasing it again until I get heavy discount 😛
