Last week has been the hand cream week on IMBB, all the lovely ladies have put up some really lovely reviews on various hand creams available around. In my last post I told all of you that this winter I have a mission to accomplish…..that is to repair my dry hands! Today, I will be reviewing another hand cream, this time from the brand The Body shop, their Shea butter hand cream. The Shea butter range from TBS is meant to deal with extremely dry skin and it is one of my favourite skin care range. My hands are dead dry this season hence ,I am trying out various hand creams from different brands. The L’Occitane one was a hit for me, so now let’s see weather this TBS one justify its brand name.

My take on The Body Shop Shea Butter Hand Cream :

On my recent trip to Mangalore, I used to visit malls there very often. Once during my regular visits to the TBS showroom, I saw this hand cream in the hand care section, I was skeptical about this because I had never seen this hand cream variant on the Indian website of TBS. But I remember coming across this variant on their US website, so I purchased this without hesitation.

This hand cream is white in colour and comes in a plastic tube with screw cap top. The packaging is quite simple and travel-friendly. The consistency of the hand cream is quite thin. It has an aroma similar to all the other Shea butter products from TBS , that is the sweet nutty aroma. Overall, it’s a thumb’s up for the hand cream’s packaging, consistency and fragrance.

Coming to the performance, it’s a pure dud….yes you read it right, it does nothing to heal your dry dead hands. Being on the thinner side it absorbs quickly into your hands without leaving any greasiness or oily feeling nor does it leave oil marks anywhere else. The nutty fragrance stays for quite a long time. That’s it nothing else than these qualities the hand cream has to offer. This cream gets easily washed off leaving your hand dead dry. Even if I reapplied it I did not notice any softness. It did not provide any nourishment to my hands. Such a dud. TBS you really disappointed me this time 🙁
