My Experience with Tony Moly 01 Black Backstage Gel Eyeliner:

These gel eyeliners come in various shades; I got the black one. Keep reading to know why this “Holy Grail” eyeliner has become my all time favorite.

The eyeliner comes in a tiny transparent plastic pot. The pot has a sticker at its base, which includes some product details written in Korean. The long applicator is attached to the screw-on type cap of the eyeliner. There is a white safety cover to prevent it from drying. The brush is neither too long nor too short; it has the right size to work properly. The brush makes it much more convenient to use. The quality of the product is pretty good. The bristles are soft and stiff enough to draw a proper line. Its bristles are really gentle on the skin and do not feel like scratching the eyelids. But this brush is wide and cannot be used to draw thin lines. So, I use thin eyeliner brush to draw thin and more precise line. Overall, the packaging is cute and classy. The brush and the eyeliner packed together makes it even easier to carry around.

The color is intense black. It is almost jet-black eyeliner. The eyeliner delivers deep black color with the very first stroke. The formula is free from any shimmers and sets to nice ultra matte finish. This range has some shimmery gel eyeliners too but this one is a velvet-matte one. The eyeliner takes a little longer than usual to dry and set completely. So I need to be extra careful after a few minutes of application to prevent it from sticking to the upper part of eyelid. The eyeliner is insanely pigmented. The color is so intense and looks the same even after hours of application without any fading. It does not come off with casual touches.

The eyeliner has a thick and semi-solid consistency like regular gel eyeliners. Its texture is very creamy and it glides like a dream. It applies smoothly on the eyelids without dragging of the eyelids. The formula is non-drying. The eyeliner does not flake at all. There is no crumbling of this eyeliner. The eyeliner is absolutely waterproof and it does not come off even with splashes of water. I was outside and it suddenly started raining; when I came back home, I was pretty surprised to see my eyeliner in place, no budging! It really does not budge at all. But too much rubbing might smudge it slightly. These eyeliners can be removed only using a good eye makeup remover. It does not stain the eyelids and gets removed in just one go with an oil-based eye makeup remover.

I have used it for maximum 12-13 hours and it looks just like freshly applied. I do not get panda eyes at the end of the day; my eyeliner still looks fresh. It is really long lasting. I have never come across any gel eyeliner with such an amazing quality. Overall, I am totally in love with this product. It is probably the best gel eyeliner I have tried so far.
