Hope all of you are doing fine today! I am here to share another breathtaking shade from Urban Decay Revolution High-Color Lipgloss range, which is one of my favorite shades in lip colors and glosses. Moreover, I hadn’t bought a red lipstick or gloss since long. As you all are aware of my love for red lip colors/glosses, here I come with a gorgeous shimmer free red gloss from my stash. I like it for its intense pigmentation and decent hydration properties though I feel even the Maybelline Lip Elixir & L’oreal Extraordinaire Color Elixirs work pretty good in this aspect. Hence, it is more about luxury versus necessity and whoever wins is perfect in its own beauty zone; you know what I mean? So, let’s read on more about Urban Decay 69 Revolution High-Color Gloss!
What it is:
A high-coverage, ultra-pigmented lip gloss.
What it does:
Get audacious lip looks and lay down all the color you crave in one swipe of this highly pigmented formula. This range of must-have, cream and sparkle textures comes in show-stopping bold brights, nudes, and deep, dark shades. Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™ gives each a super creamy texture for an irresistible finish. Enriched with Hilurlip™, these glosses define and hydrate lips, making them appear fuller and plumper. Each gloss is encased in a clear barrel to make the shade visible, and features an applicator that provides full coverage in one quick swipe.

My Experience with Urban Decay 69 Revolution High-Color Lipgloss:
Well, this luxurious lip gloss comes in a sophisticated tube glass packaging with a long, slender doe foot applicator that is unique and does its work really well. It does not have any significant smell so far and over all, I find it pretty user friendly & travel friendly, packaging wise.
Coming to my shade “69”, described as “bright red” and I wonder what makes them name it? Whatsoever, it is really a gorgeous blue based red which instantly brightens my pale skin tone. Usually I had a concept that blue based red and pinks work best on light/fair skin tones with pink undertones while I have slight yellow-neutral undertone which made me little hesitant at first. But it still works so well for me that I am sure it will work on variety of skin tones.
The texture of gloss is lightweight & non-sticky with apt semi-liquid consistency that spreads nicely on my normal dry lips with no tugging pulling and/or bleeding around lip lines. It does come up slightly semi-opaque finish at first which is buildable up to great extent with 1-2 swipes. But, it is a gloss after all so expect slight, translucent sheen after a while. This makes it suitable for beauties with pigmented lips as well. I totally love its intense red color payoff with creamy juicy finish which shines all the way with intense pigmentation. It may fade off from the centre of the lips first though occasional pursing of lips together will help to deliver even finish and correct little cons as per my observation.
Moreover, I noticed one more weird issue with these thick, intensely pigmented glosses and that is no one ever pointed to my face asking what these light red/pink lines on my cheeks are that almost look like a cat’s moustache. 😛 That’s because my stray hair often kiss my lips (on windy day or after a fast car drive) and on an attempt to tuck them back they leave gloss marks on my face and cheeks. Take my small advice to wear these richly pigmented glosses with neatly tucked hair. I have been in this situation every time I go out on a windy day or for a mind blowing car drive. 😛
Anyway, other than that I don’t see any major concern; just that the gloss fades unevenly from my lips and stays for 5-6 hours leaving behind a slightly subtle red sheen. I am glad that it does not sit on top of my dry lip patches and/or lip lines. It does hydrate our lips for decent hours being slightly thick yet non-sticky. Over all, keeping all points in mind I feel that it is more like enjoying a luxury than to enjoy its usage to be honest; as I have tried L’oreal and Maybelline Color Elixir glosses that are more or less at par with these.
Guess people who love to own luxury products will always choose Urban Decay while I feel beauties looking for budget will anytime love to skip this and stick to Maybelline Lip Polishes or L’Oreal Extraordinaire ranges.
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of Urban Decay 69 Revolution High-Color Lipgloss:
• A lightweight, non-sticky, shimmer free, blue based, creamy red lip gloss with intense pigmentation
• It delivers exactly the same color as seen in the tube
• It glides effortlessly on our lips without settling into lip lines or sitting on top of my dry lip patches
• It does not bleed nor feather a bit unless we layer it unnecessarily
• It does hydrate your lips for decent hours even after fading off our lips completely
• It manages to stay for decent 5-6 hours while leaving a subtle red sheen upon fading after one heavy meal
• It does not highlight our lip lines which makes it perfect for every beauty including pigmented lips and ageing beauties
• Classy, attractive & travel friendly packaging
Cons of Urban Decay 69 Revolution High-Color Lipgloss:
• Well, I find similar experiences with Maybelline/L’Oreal lip polishes and those can be bought at fraction of this one’s price
• The gloss tends to give a slightly tacky finish after a while
• The gloss fades away from the centre of the lips first giving an uneven, ugly finish
• I find it overpriced for the performance it delivers
Well, if you ask me to choose between Urban Decay and L’Oreal or Maybelline Lip Polishes, then probably I would choose the latter because they offer better coverage, finish and optimum hydration that too for less than 5-6$. However, for people who want to treat themselves occasionally, can go for this luxury.
I am also sharing my recent picture wearing this shade with a saree. Please don’t mind my exhausted skin as I had been fasting all day long. It was teej after all! 🙂
