REVIEW:VOV FRENCH MANICURE SET.
What is this?
A French manicure set by VOV [A Korean brand].
Price:Rs.165 but i got it for Rs.150 [Indian rupees]
How is it?

Where can I get this?
Any sane makeup store . Ok on a serious note, I guess you will be able to find it in smaller makeup stores as this product isnβt that widely available everywhere.
About French manicure:
I love French manicure.According to me none of the other normal nail paints can give you that beautifully feminine and classy look.
French manicure gives you a natural look, although you do tend to coat the nail tip with a white nail paint.
I have seen many girls who loves to get a MANICURE done from the salon,But i feel itβs just a waste of money!Oh cβmon π
MY FIRST ENCOUNTER:
I have always been using a White nail paint, A Base coat and a baby pink nail paint for doing my French manicure.I never knew there existed a pack which had all three βthat is a French manicure set until i found this beauty . π
The VOV FRENCH MANICURE SET!
When i first found it in the store, i grabbed it desperately and that shopkeeper was like βRs 165β
And i was like βWHAT??β
βwhat uncle , 150 na uncle…please ???β π

So i got it for Rs 150, depends on your convincing skillsΒ π
This product comes in 2 different packaging-one comes in a PLASTIC BOX and the other one is what i am reviewing about.
The plastic box one comes with a nail buffer and the bottles are super-small [SAMPLE SIZE]
So I didnβt want to buy it this time.
Hence, I ended up buying the bigger one.The brush is normal, nothing special and itβs easy to apply [Like any other nail paint.]
Just make sure you do not keep the paints OPEN for long π
It consists of a BASE COAT-
Top coat:
White tip:
You also get these strips that help you to paint the tips . π
What I feel about this product?
- Itβs very easy to use this product.You will have a complete set with you and can carry it anywhere you want ο.
- It does dry out fast , so donβt keep it open for long.
- But it works really well.I donβt use the strips though as itβs super-easy for me to use the normal brush ο .The nail paint stays on my nails for about 3 days and then it starts chipping off [This again depends on what you do the whole day :P]
- This product will last for about 3 months or so, depends on your usage .
PROS:
- 1.Love the packaging,easy to carry.
- 2.The price is pretty Normal
- 3.It stays for 3 days , not bad π
Cons:
- The only thing is that it dries out soon . π
Will i buy it again?
- YES π ! This is my Third pack .

IMPORTANT:
**There are many FAKE VOVS in the market, so be careful and make sure you see where it has been produced-
It should be made in TAIWAN OR KOREA . π And not in INDIA! The packaging itself will speak for itself haha π
SOME French Manicure TIPS:
- Paint the white tip area normally, itβs ok if it gets messy.
- Want a second coat?Do that too.
- After that , take a brush!
- I will be using the brush in the above picture – a normal paint brush π
- And dip it in acetone/or a nail polish remover.I got this super huge
- Acetone bottle for like 60 bucks . π You can get it in any medical store.
And remove all the unevenness under the white tip. Use it like a normal paint brush [Donβt forget to dip it in - ACETONE!!I End up dipping it in the nail paint for some reason :P]
- And remove all the weird messy white tip from the bottom, so that you get an even white line.
- You can manipulate the shape however you want, so this makes it easier, doesnβt it?
- Now you are all set.
Paint the left over place with the baby pink base coat
And then top it with a TOP COAT!
If you donβt find this product anywhere ,You can use Normal nail paints like these-
- You can get a normal white paint for the white tip-
- A clear nail paint for the top coat –
- And a baby pink or nude nail paint for the Base coat β

I bought Essence make up haul during my faaltu time at Germany (there was nothing to do there, besides shopping!! π π π )… and this paint brush tip is super cool..I have been doing canvas painting since quite a while and was dealing with all these different kinds of brushes… never thought of using them for nails!! π π π ..now i know better…
Another tip I want to share here is, since I am a right handed person, I usually mess up working on my right hand nails!! π π π ..So what I do is, I keep my nails on the table and use my left hand’s elbow to stabilize my left hand holding the brush tip for applying the white coat on the nail tips. Now, keep the brush stable and intact on the right most tip of the nail, and just move your finger half – anticlockwise while keeping the brush intact.You will get less messier and a perfect white arc to cover the nail!! π π ..hope my description was clear :silly: ..and it helps!! π π
aaargh..it is so confusing…I mean just keep the brush at one place and move the finger… π π .. I know, that was a dumb and confusing description above…. :-(( :-(( still i hope it helps!!

he he..I can list the things…I had such a huge trouble finding just one body lotion the very first day!! Everything was in German and I was accidentally going to buy one body shower gel instead of body lotion!! :-/ …Shudder to think what could have happened if I’d applied that shower gel as lotion and gone out, especially in rain!! :shock:…
I had to first search the site on net (which was again in german), translate it into english using chrome’s translator and then note down the stuffs… :-)..phew!! It was one kinda task..but literally amazing..I went there just for 3 weeks, and now back!!

Hey Gia great tips.I have such shaky hands that I always mess up my french tips.I own a couple of VOV nail paints and I thought that they were some fakes, but I checked the label like you said and they are actually genuine.These are great but I hate the brush, its too small and I have to use 3-4 strokes to cover my nails.Will keep an eye out for these babies though.

Buy a bigger one, so you will get a bigger brush!
I know that most of the vov nail paints come in smaller bottles :((
But you do get bigger ones =) and they’re awesome!
I just need like maximum 2 strokes if it’s a lighter color and if it’s a dark one – one stroke.

I actually have this manicure set and it really is great. I like the Oriflame one too. Though I’m not very good with doing the white tip. I mess it up a lot.
On a completely different note, I didn’t know where else to ask, but can anyone tell me where i can buy hot rollers in bangalore? I’ve looked in quite a few places and nobody seems to have it. And how much does it cost?
