Wander Beauty Wanderout Dual Lipsticks Nikki Beach and BB Review

Hello gorgeous gals,

This year has been dismal on quite a few ends but has been fab for the beauty industry. So, many new brands have come up! In the US, both Sephora and Ulta are vying with each other to sign up the next happening brand, and it is great for the consumer, of course. As a consumer and a beauty addict, you have a constant flow of new products which get more easily accessible through retailers like Sephora and Ulta. At the same time, I feel it is becoming quite overwhelming. The churn has been massive – whether it is new brands, or new collections or  just new products!! It is mind boggling. This makes it very difficult for a customer to weed through the hype. Also, there are times when a new brand/product is lost in the overwhelming crowd. Today’s product is from one such brand, available at Sephora and Net-a-Porter. I did check briefly into the background to be able to give you some perspective on the brand because I really hadn’t heard much/anything about them except for being their products on Sephora. The brand was co-founded in July 2014 by Divya Gugnani and supermodel Lindsay Ellingson. Divya Gugnani is an entrepreneur and also the Founding Partner for Concept to Co LLC while Lindsay Ellington is an ex Victoria’s Secret Angel. The brand has been designed keeping travel plus a less-is-more philosophy. “Wander Beauty focuses on multitasking makeup essentials to streamline your beauty routine”. If you look through their range, you see that it is in keeping with their philosophy. Every product is either a multi-tacker and/or is designed to be easy to travel with. I was super excited to check this line. And lipstick is where I started from! Duh, right?

Packaging:
The packaging is super cute, luxe looking and still funky cute! So, it’s a cylindrical tube, metallic bronze in colour. It is reminiscent of Hourglass lip stylos with one difference – these seem metallic and so, more weighted. The cylindrical tube has a lipstick at each end – one shade is an everyday wear shade while the other being a bright one. If you have more than one variant of this, you can always swap the shades to your preference when stepping out. Quite cool, ain’t it??

My Experience with Wander Beauty Wanderout Dual Lipsticks Nikki Beach and BB:

Color: We will be discussing both shades here. The first one I will take up is the shade “BB” which is such a pretty, medium, rose pink shade with a satin finish. It is one of those shades which isn’t MLBB but still super easy to carry off and quite flattering at the same time. I love my shades of rose because I feel they are quite flattering on their own with minimal help from other products to boost them up. The second shade “Nikki Beach” described as “watermelon” is actually a bright coral-red toned, hot-pink shade!! I used to love such shades, especially red-toned hot pinks. I wore this bright a shade after ages and was so surprised with myself. The face instantly looks brighter and more confident. It a bold shade and may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Overall, I like the variation in colour here as well as both the shades individually. One can also create different looks with this combination – be it an ombre look or even mix them up and create a whole new shade itself.

Texture: The texture of the lipstick took me by surprise. Since I did not know much about the brand, I had no preconceived notion. For example, someone trying a Tom Ford lipstick would go in expecting top notch quality because of the reputation that precedes as well as the amount the person has paid to buy the lipstick. So, for this brand, I did not really expect anything and that someones can be the best thing!! The texture of this one is amazing!! They apply smoothly and glide easily. The lipsticks feel lightweight but not like the NARS Audacious line, but are more creamy in texture without the weight. These feel light on the lips and are surprisingly hydrating, which I hadn’t expected from them, but it is not surprising considering that the ingredient list boasts of marula Oil, castor seed oil, jojoba oil and mango seed butter. The lipstick is quite nourishing during wear. Your lips do feel better off than they were before the application.

The texture is ever so slightly dense but does not add weight to the look or feel of the lips. It does transfer a bit; however, it is so richly pigmented that the colour is still mostly there. However, if this is a big cause of concern for you, you can apply the lipstick and then blot it off with a tissue after 15-20 minutes. The excess will go away and you will be left with darkly stained lips.

Pigmentation:  The pigmentation on both lipsticks is excellent – it is rich and opaque. It is super pigmented. The rich pigmentation ensures you get excellent wear because even with eating or sipping through the day, the intensity of the shade may slightly dim, but it is still very much there. Keeping how pigmented and bright the shades are, they were relatively easy to apply and get clean lines.

Lasting Power:  Considering the intense pigmentation and the strong stain that it leaves – especially Nikki Beach – you can get a full day wear from it. Nikki Beach does last a whole day while BB gives me about 7 hours of wear time. So, even when at the end of the day, the lipstick starts fading, the stain still remains and gives you a put together look.

Pros of Wander Beauty Wanderout Dual Lipsticks Nikki Beach and BB:

  • Well thought out shades and both look extremely pretty.
  • Insanely pigmented.
  • Lightweight texture.
  • Quite hydrating while on.
  • Despite the creamy texture and rich pigmentation, did not sink into fine lines of the lips.
  • Opaque coverage.
  • No feathering or bleeding.
  • Well thought out luxe packaging.
  • Easy to travel with.
  • Distinctive weighted packaging but not to the point of being cumbersome *cough* Guerlain Rouge G *cough*
  • Free from parabens and phthalates.

Cons of Wander Beauty Wanderout Dual Lipsticks Nikki Beach and BB:

  • Nothing at all. I wish this brand would push the marketing budget a little so people could know how awesome it is.

IMBB Rating:
A 5/5 product.

It has been a while since something has truly enamoured me. Yes, you come across some good, some not so good products, over a period of time, but very few leave you smiling stupid. This is one of them. My only apprehension with this product is that it will spoil too easily thanks to the concoction of oils in it. Depending on the weather conditions and storage conditions, oils can get rancid, which may end up spoiling the product. Considering that each of the lipsticks is about 2 gm, I am hoping one would finish it long before it spoils.

Do I Recommend Wander Beauty Wanderout Dual Lipsticks Nikki Beach and BB?
Yes, totally! Do try this line! If nothing else, for women empowerment and I am sure you will end up loving the product too.
