Wet n Wild recently launched a few new eyeshadow quads and I picked up three of them. So, here is the review of Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad – Hooked on Vinyl.

My Experience with Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad Hooked on Vinyl:
Packaging:
Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Quad comes in a very pretty black container with a clear lid. The palette does not come with an applicator or a mirror, which is a bit disappointing. But, at this price point, I can’t complain about anything. This palette is small, lightweight and travel-friendly. I also like that they have mentioned the shades and how to apply them. So, this quad is good for beginners to understand how they can easily create a look.
Shades and Pigmentation:
This palette contains four shades and I like the combination of shades. It actually has two shimmery shades and two matte shades. I also like the fact that it contains a nice transition shade as well.
All the shades are nicely pigmented and give good color payoff in just a few swipes. ‘Hooked on Vinyl’ is my favorite variant from this range. It is very pigmented and I can easily build up color intensity. Now let’s discuss each shade individually:
Transition:
The topmost shade is a beautiful light yellow-brown shade and it’s a nice transition shade to blend the other colors.
Browbone:
This is a pretty creamy white shade for highlighting.
Crease:
This is a beautiful dark green shade with finely milled shimmer. You can use it on the crease and outer corners to define the eyes. I love this color.
Eyelid:
This is a gorgeous dark bronze gold shade to highlight the eyelids. This one also has fine shimmer particles that look lovely on the eyes.
Texture and Quality:
All the shadows have a very soft and smooth texture that blends effortlessly. They never feel patchy or powdery and blend easily with a light hand application. I love the smooth and even finish of these shadows. The shadows have fine shimmer particles that never look overpowering and they mix well with each other.
The dark shimmery shade falls out a bit but I can dust it off easily or sometimes I prefer to do my eye makeup first. These shadows don’t crease or settle into the fine lines but still I prefer to use a primer underneath. I really love the quality of these shadows as they give a flawless finish on the eyes. The pigment, too, occupies my eyes perfectly.
Staying Power:
These shadows stay nicely on the eyes – without any creasing or mess. They stay in place and do not really create a mess. The shadows last around 5-6 hours but start to look a bit faded after that, thanks to my oily eyelids. A primer could make these last longer.
Overall:
I love this range, especially this variant as it is apt for parties. I am also happy with the quality. This is a perfect quad for beginners.
