“Metallic trend” seems to be all over the place and I wanted to give it a spin before making my mind whether to pass it. I thought a “metallic lip” might be a good starting point and I got this liquid metallic lipstick under the IMBB sponsored scheme. Spoiler: I adore this lippie!

My Experience with Wet n Wild MegaLast Metallic Liquid Catsuit Lipstick I Don’t Dessert You:

Packaging: It comes in the typical Megalast Catsuit lipstick tube – transparent, slightly chubby tube with a shiny black cap. There is a silver band probably denoting the “metallic” range. It has a doe-foot applicator, slanted on one side, found in all the other liquid lipsticks of this range. Personally, I am not a big fan of this applicator. The shade name is written on the base of the tube. Overall, convenient and classy packaging.

Color: The biggest concern for me while picking up this shade online was the color. I wanted to play safe and get a color I could wear. Instead of venturing into shiny purples and gleaming goldens, I opted for this beautiful burgundy shade. It has a beautiful sheen, and looks extremely beautiful on all skin tones. The color looks slightly brownish under some light and maroon-ish in others. The shimmers are very subtle and not in your face, making this a perfect lipstick for those wanting to take baby steps towards wearing metallic lip colors.

Texture: Contrary to what I expected, there is no grittiness. It goes on very smoothly on lips, without any tug or pull. It feels very comfortable on lips and sets to a matte finish, with the metallic sheen of course.

Pigmentation: Good pigmentation. I like to use double layer of this liquid lipstick as it gives a neat and rich color. I also, pair it up with Wet n Wild Color Icon Lip Liner in Brandy Wine which goes perfectly with this shade.

Staying Power: So, the formula is water resistant and doesn’t feather or bleed. Sipping or munching doesn’t affect it, but oily foods does break it down. A lip liner underneath salvages the situation though. I get 6-7 hours of wear time easily. If you eat a whole oily meal, rub it clean and then apply a fresh coat as it flakes and crumbles.

Honestly, I am impressed! This shade fetched me loads of compliments, especially from people who were tired of me wearing either mauves or reds. For Rs. 499, this liquid lipstick is worth a try.
