Hello beauties,

Today I’m back with another review from Wet n Wild and it is about a setting spray. The Wet n Wild Photo Focus Matte Setting Spray – Matte Appeal is a new launch. Since summers are already here and we want our makeup to last longer and refrain from being shiny, using a setting spray that gives a matte effect is a great idea. Let’s see how this product worked for me.

Price: $4.99 for 45 ml

Product Description:
This light-weight formula extends makeup wear by preventing cracking, smudging, fading or creasing, while also reducing shine, for when days turn into nights and nights turn into mornings. Our ultra-hydrating spray elevates any makeup look to next-level gorgeous by providing a stunning matte finish.

Ingredients:
Water/Eau, Alcohol, PVP, Propanediol, PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Glycereth-5 Lactate, Dimethicone PEG/PPG-12/4 Phosphate, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Chlorphenesin, Sodium Citrate, Poloxamer 407, Isononyl Isononanoate, Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf, Sodium Cocamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate.

My Experience with Wet n Wild Photo Focus Matte Setting Spray – Matte Appeal:

The Wet n Wild Photo Focus Matte Setting Spray is available in two different variants – ‘Natural Finish’ (which is used for achieving a dewy, glowing look) and ‘Matte Appeal’ (which is used for having a matte finish). Wet n Wild Photo Focus Natural Finish Setting Spray has already been reviewed on IMBB. The other variant, Matte Appeal, is the one which is perfect for summers. Our face tends to get oily and shiny frequently in the hot and humid weather. This spray ensures to keep excess oil at bay and give you that perfect matte finish.

Packaging:
The packaging is very much similar to the other variants with the only exception of the colour of the bottle’s body. The ‘Natural Finish’ setting spray comes in a white bottle whereas the ‘Matte Appeal’ setting spray comes housed in a classic black coloured bottle.

The quantity offered is 45 ml which I think is really great at this low price tag. Usually, when it comes to choosing setting sprays most of them are quite expensive, but with Wet n Wild having setting sprays in their makeup empire, you will never run out of owing quality products at an affordable price.

It has a spray nozzle kind of mechanism that dispenses the right amount of product on the face. The bottle has a transparent black cap which closes securely in place. All the product details concerned with the description, ingredients and directions for use are written on the body of the bottle. Overall, the packaging is sturdy and travel-friendly and I find no issues with the packaging.

Fragrance and Ingredients:
Coming to the fragrance of this setting spray, the smell is not very pleasant but it is not terrible either. It does not have any specific note but I find the smell a little bit odd. The good thing is the smell does not linger around and fades away after some time.

There is nothing surprising about the odd odour because the spray is comprised of different types of chemicals. It also contains a good amount of alcohol which is one of the principal ingredients in the ingredient list. This is something which I do not like personally, but it did not affect me negatively in any way.

People who have issues with chemical infused makeup products should check out the ingredient list before buying this makeup spray. Amongst all these negative factors, there goes a positive factor too. This spray is free from the harmful effects of parabens.

How I Use it:
Basically, we use makeup sprays to extend the longevity of the makeup underneath. The only difference comes in the resultant effect it helps to achieve. Some give a dewy finish whereas some give a matte finish.

You can either apply it before application of the base makeup for a smoother base application or at the end of makeup application to ensure that your makeup locks properly in place. If you go by the former option, you can either spray the product directly or even use cotton pads to use the spray on the face. I usually prefer the latter option.

After I am done with the application of makeup, I hold the spray bottle a few inches away from my face and spray directly. This step helps your makeup to stay in place and gives a flawless finish.

Results:
Being a cheap and budget-friendly product, I was not expectant of marvellous results. But this did not disappoint me either. As per its claims to help to achieve that perfect matte finish look, bingo, it does that!! It does not take much time to dry out and gives a matte finish. The look is not completely matte though. It does leave behind a little glow, which is negligible.

For people who have oily skin, this will work well and will control oil on your face. It is perfect for summers. Since I have dry skin, I am not a big fan of matte finish sprays. I have to always ensure that my face remains hydrated. It also evens out the makeup application.

It helps in the further layering of makeup without making your makeup look messy. It holds my makeup in place like a pro. I use it to set my eyeliner, mascara, foundation and even liquid lip products. My makeup does not smudge, crease or transfer after applying this.

Coming to the longevity after application, it does not give very long-staying results in extremely hot and humid weather. After some 4-5 hours, my makeup started looking shiny. If the weather remains normal, you can expect the wear time of your makeup to be more.
