Garnier Nourishing Cleansing Oil Review

Garnier Nourishing Cleansing Oil

Hello Ladies,

As much as we love to apply makeup while going out, we all want it to be cleaned completely from our skin once back home. I have used cleansing milk and oil based eye makeup cleansers in past but I have not tried cleansing oils ever. Most of cleansing oil I came across were on the costlier side, and to start with I wanted to use something not so pricy at first so when I saw the Garnier Nourishing cleansing oil in WalMart I just bought it.

Price: $7.99

My Experience with Garnier Nourishing Cleansing Oil:

As this is the first cleansing oil I have ever used I won’t be able to compare it with anything. However this oil is thick in consistency, like any other oil. As directed I use 2 pumps of it on dry face, and massage it all over and then I wash it with water. When this oil comes in contact of water it does emulsify but not as good as I have seen in some other cleansing oils reviews. It does not turn into a white thick paste as it should be, it shows some white residue and then all the makeup is washed off with that. It does the work, however as you can see in the picture, it does not remove the long lasting makeup very efficiently, some 5-3% of residue is still there. This product is made for dry skin and I have combination to oily skin still this product work fine for me, it did not break me out. However after washing my skin does not feel squeaky clean, it feels bit oily so I like to use a face wash after using this oil.

Though it shows jojoba and macadamia oil as main ingredients on the package but in ingredient list the first ingredient is mineral oil, which is not something everyone will love to put on their face. Though it did not break me out but then it did nothing to nourish my skin or to make it better. Also the packaging looks very practical however the pump is not very good. The oil keeps leaking every time you pump the product out, this makes it not so travel friendly.

So in totality it is an average product and to my knowledge only cleansing oil available under $10. So if you want to try your hands on cleansing oil and don’t want to spend a lot of money you can go for this one. However, if you have very oily or sensitive skin and don’t mind spending more money for good products then lookout for other options.

  1. Hm, I had been somewhat disappointed when I found that Garnier’s Cleansing Oil isn’t available (yet) where I live, because, of all the cleansing oils I know, it is by far the most affordable one. But now, after reading your review, I’m not all that unhappy anymore, because it probably saved me from a mispurchase. Sometimes, the most affordable product is just … cheap. I ended up using The Body Shop’s Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil, btw, which is about double the price of Garnier’s, but still costs less than MAC, Clarins, Bobbi Brown …, and I’m happy with it.

    hugs,
    Sandra
