Makeup Sanitizing Tips – Keep Your Makeup Clean

Hope you all are doing extremely well. Today we would be discussing different ways of sanitizing makeup. Here are some easy and efficient makeup sanitizing tips for you all. 

First and foremost, look for how you store your makeup.  Store it hygienically. Do not leave it open and unclosed. Also choose an appropriate place to store it. If you have children and pets, be extra cautious.

Clean up regularly, I have noticed it myself too, that my vanity and drawers tend to get dusty and I ignore it thinking that my cosmetics are safe and clean, but then this is important too. Have a clean vanity.

Not just the surrounding and the storage, your hands must be clean too. So always make sure you have clean fingers whilst using your cosmetics.

For lip balms and potted lip products or any other potted products, avoid the double dip. Nothing else contaminates makeup more than this, use a brush or a q tip instead.

Lipsticks get contaminated the most, so you can use a tissue and wipe of the tip of the lippie regularly to get rid of the residue at the top. Always keep the cap of the lippie clean.

Same is the thing with pressed powders, press of the top layer of the product with the help of a dry tissue.  Or try and scrape of the top layer lightly.

For pencil liners of any kind, spritz the product as well as the sharpener with alcohol. Again keep the cap sanitized.
For loose powders change the containers regularly. Also refrigerating these powders helps in depleting bacteria and controlling the growth.

Other than this, mascaras need to be disposed every 6 weeks (which most of us don’t). The wand of the mascara can be clean with a makeup remover and used hygienically.

Also always use brushes and other tools for using emollient and creamy products.

The last and most important tip is keeping the brushes clean and cleaning them regularly.  Here’s my WAY on how I clean my brushes regularly.
