Often women sit in the salon for about an hour to get a cute, unique, and personal design for their manicures, but with crackle nail polish, you can have the salon look by spending about fifteen minutes in the comfort of your own home.
Crackle or shatter nail polishes are a new type of nail polish that splits and cracks as it dries to reveal the nail polish color underneath. Crackle nail polishes work the way a traditional nail polish isn’t supposed to. A traditional nail polish is supposed to dry slowly and uniformly across the nail in a smooth, even application. Crackle nail polishes have added a special solvent called ethanol alcohol that allows the polish to dry quickly and unevenly. I ordered these 6 China Glaze Nail Lacquers (which come as a set) from Ebay India through Global Easy Buy. My packet was received safe and intact within 3 weeks from the date of order. The price was Rs. 1,880, which included shipping from USA to India. I am really super-duper excited as I have been drooling over crackle or shatter nail polishes ever since I saw them on the internet a while back.

Black Mesh, Crushed Candy, Fault Line, Lightning Bolt, Cracked Concrete and Broken Hearted.

Crackle nail polish is fun and easy to apply. Shake the bottle of nail polish for a few seconds. This will help to mix the nail polish and remove air bubbles. Paint your nails a base color. Bold or bright colored polish makes the most dramatic, eye-catching looks. After the base coat is completely dry, apply a coat of crackle nail polish over the base color. Tap the nail polish brush on the side of the bottle to remove excess polish. Paint a strip down the center and on both sides of each fingernail. Once the nail polish is completely painted on, watch the transformation from plain to a one-of-a-kind crackle design appear.
There are three important guidelines to get the full effect of your new nail polish.
First, you choose a base color for your nails, which you allow to completely dry.
Second, the thinner you apply the crackle nail polish, the more cracks you will have. Therefore, if you want to have very few cracks, then you would apply more crackle nail polish and vice-versa if you want more. Finally, the cracked effects may chip off without a top coat so, be sure to use a top coat for the longest lasting look.
The shade being reviewed ‘Black Mesh’ is in my opinion the most versatile of all the 6 colours. To get the maximum optical effect, Black Mesh should be applied over any really bright, contrast colour, and it will also look great even on top of white nail polish.
Let’s see how I worked with this colour; my first-ever application of crackle nail polish.
I started out with Inglot Ridge Filler as my base coat, followed by Maybelline Colorama nail polish ‘Amarelo Sol’ :
Applied 3 coats of the yellow Maybelline nail polish to give completely opaque coverage :
And here’s the China Glaze Crackle Nail Lacquer ‘Black Mesh’ on my nails over the yellow nail polish :

Awesome combo Sabrina!!! Haven’t tried crackle myself (plan to order some OPI shatter soon. Personally, I loved the combo you tried – although I am leaning more toward a gold-black design – like a leopard finish! Try some of the combos on Scrangie – she posts some awesome crackle manis!
