Maybelline Expert Wear Twin Brow and Eye Pencils Medium Brown

I’ve been wanting to get my hands on Maybelline Expert Brow and Eye Pencils after reading Scott Barnes Book, About Face. He is the man behind the goddess, light from within, glowing look of Jennifer Lopez. He has mentioned in his book his love for this particular pencil and I’ve seen him used it on every models whose looks he transformed in the book. I think this was never available where I live so thanks to online shops, I was able own one! Let me share with you my experience with Maybelline Expert Twin Brow and Eye Pencils in Medium Brown.

My Experience with Maybelline Expert Wear Twin Brow and Eye Pencils in Medium Brown:

What I have is a pack of two of shorter versions of Maybelline Expert Wear Brow and Eye Pencils which comes in 4 shades. I got the Medium Brown Shade as I use that kind of color on my brows and I would like to see it would work on my upper eyelids. It appears light to medium, reddish brown to me when lined on skin. So I find it perfect for my brows whenever I have my hair dyed with medium to light brown shades or with reddish and burgundy colors. However, I find the pencil’s color too light for my eyelids. It does not accentuate, nor emphasize my eyes too well like dark brown and black eyeliners do. I also find it having more reddish pigment in it making my eyes appear tired or reddish when lined with it.

Each of the two red pencils has 9 grams of product in it which I believe is longer than the regular, long eye pencils when combined. I love the balance of hardness and creaminess of the lead itself. It is hard helping me create neat lines on both brows and eyelids and a bit soft for pigment to adhere easily on skin. It is also the least messy eyeliner I have as the lead does not stick to the sharpener’s blade.

I’ve read and seen on Scott Barnes’ book that he uses a cigar lighter to melt the lead of the pencil to create smoky eyes or to build the color bolder around the eyes. I actually didn’t expect this product to have a softer lead as it would be difficult to use on eyebrows if ever.

Maybelline Expert Wear Twin Brow and Eye Pencils in Medium Brown – What I like:

-Right balance of hardness and creaminess to be used as both brow and eye pencil.
-It glides on easily and smoothly over lash line.
-Easy to fill in brows.
-One layer gives light brown color. Two to three layers medium brown color.
-It does not cause any eye irritations.
-It does not smudge, does not transfer.
-It has matte finish.
-It is waterproof. Water and soap can remove it easily.
-It lasts the whole day without fading. I find it still intact on my lids after hours of hot daytime outdoor activities. Same goes when applied on brows.
-It is affordable.

Maybelline Expert Wear Twin Brow and Eye Pencils in Medium Brown – What I don’t like:

- Limited availability.
- Dark brown shade appears too reddish to use on my eyelids.
- Dark brown shade only suits me when I have my hair dyed with medium to light brown, reddish or burgundy color.

IMBB Rating:

4/5

Final thoughts:

This is such a good product from Maybelline. My cons basically came from the choice of shade. I’ll definitely get the black and dark brown shades of Expert Wear Brow and Eye Pencils.

Hi Surabhi, yup this is great brown shade to have. I wasn’t able to capture clear photos of my eyes. My cam is too heavy to photograph myself. Hehe. My phone can’t capture much detail. Hihi. I’ll try next time. :) *thankyou* *thankyou*
