Unfortunately my makeup choices are very boring and my makeup staples are my basic kajal and a nude gloss. But even for something so boring I am very lucky that makeup companies out there give us oodles and oodles of choice. So here is another nude lip gloss which is amazing because there are two in one and it also lets me experiment some more with my nude lip gloss obsession!
The Revlon Colorstay lip gloss is no different from a dual ended Star Wars light saber in its capacity to amaze. It twists out on both ends to provide on end a) a base brown colour lip gloss and on end b) a top coat or a more sheer and sparkly light brown clear which can of course be used by itself as well. Neither of these two colours looks like Champagne but that is often a word associated with a nude lipstick or gloss so we will roll with it. Both ends twist close securely and do not leak when taken along with you in your hand luggage.
Price:
USD 6.99 for 4 ml of gloss (2ml of colour and 2ml of basecoat) but the prices of these do vary among different drug stores.
My experience with the Revlon 870 Sheer Champagne ColorStay Overtime Sheer Lipcolor :
My love of lip glosses is never ending and this Revlon gloss does not disappoint. I rarely come across such double ended products, but when I do and if they work well it is true love! I have to be honest I have not used these lip glosses one on top of each other more than once or twice. I feel like that does get a bit too heavy for my lips, it becomes too much gloss and it just feels mucky. On their own I think these are brilliant!
The base colour is not actually a hundred percent true to colour. It looks very brown in the tube but it swatches more pinky brown on my lips. I am not sure why that is! But it is very smooth during application and feels soft on my lips without any hard particles in it. The applicator is the standard soft sponge applicator and delivers even product. This gloss is also very moisturising and my lips do not feel dry as it comes off but my lips do get flaky with its use. That is quite common for me with a lot of lip glosses though so I would not entirely blame this bugger. It helps when I exfoliate my lips before use or let my lips flake once and then as I reapply they will not flake anymore. The staying power of this is average and reapplication is needed after 2 or 3 hours. This is not sticky but will transfer to you tea cup.
The top coat is quite a fun product to use and as I mentioned I have never really use it in conjunction with the base lip gloss but I like using it by itself. This does not look clear in the tube but swatches as a clear lip gloss with a decent amount of shine to it. I love the applicator for this and it has the softest bristles that have not frayed with use yet! The lasting power for this lip gloss is a bit less than the base colour and you will need to reapply after about an hour. But it applies smoothly and you will not feel the glitter particles on. I also like dabbing this in the center of my lips with certain lipsticks just to give them that super shiny effect! The top coat however does transfer a lot and it does give a sticky and heavy feel. I find this to be true for a lot of clear lip glosses though!

Would I repurchase or recommend Revlon 870 Sheer Champagne ColorStay Overtime Sheer Lipcolor?
I probably would not recommend or repurchase more lip glosses from this line because they have not blown me away. You could buy cheaper drugstore brand ones in similar shades. Revlon has been getting better with their makeup so I can imagine what they were like 10 or 15 years ago when their products were much worse!
