Hello everyone,
This review will be on another eye shadow by Urban Decay. This eye shadow was a part of the Summer 2014 release and is one of those duo chrome finish shadows I was highly fascinated with. I had bought 2 eye shadows with this finish – Fireball and Lounge. This review is on the shade “Lounge.”
Product Description:
An innovative eye shadow that delivers a lasting, high-pigment, velvety finish that lasts.
What it does: This eye shadow features even softer, velvety texture and richer, more decadent color. Sweep on smoother, more uniform pigment and blend-ability, and longer-lasting, more crease-free wear. This array of shades features a completely revamped assortment of shadows in new textures, and a redesigned token compact.
Formulated with Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™, it acts as a vehicle for color that holds tightly to pigment so that the eye shadow can glide on seamlessly. It features a proprietary blend of ingredients that allows color to fuse with the formula, resulting in high-impact color that stays on your lids. It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates.
Price:
$18 each.
My Experience with Urban Decay Lounge Eyeshadow:
Packaging: So sleek, sturdy, easy to use and travel friendly – all encompassed into this beautiful grunge packaging Urban Decay is known for. The shade inside is visible through the lid which is helpful. All in all, I love the packaging.
Texture: This eye shadow is so creamy smooth, almost feels like a cream and not a powder with how densely packed it is. There is no gritty feeling even though it has a bunch of shimmer in it to give it the beautiful duochrome effect. There is absolutely no fall out during application which I love. I do find it difficult to use this shadow with a brush because with that method, it doesn’t pack as much as I like and also gets applied unevenly. The best way I like to use is with my fingertips.
Shade and Pigmentation: The shade “Lounge” is so gorgeous and breath taking. The color is hard to describe as it looks different under different lights. It is a beautiful green color which has a reddish black shift. The finish does not look super shimmery yet it gives a beautiful metallic finish which looks and blends seamlessly.
This shade is an absolute must have for those special evening dates as it gives a unique twist on a signature sultry smokey eye. This shade is fantastic to create a one-shadow look as it gives the impression that it took much more effort in creating than it actually did. The pigmentation on this shade is fantastic; full opaque color in one swipe.
Staying Power: Staying power is pretty good. It did not crease on me at all. It lasted for about 7-8 hours before fading slightly.
Overall, I am highly impressed with this product, especially this beautiful shade. The only con I would list is that the price tag is very high. I wish Urban Decay would come out with more shades like these in a palette so that it will be more pocket friendly. I will recommend this.
Pros of Urban Decay Lounge Eyeshadow:
- Smooth, creamy texture.
- Sleek sturdy packaging.
- Absolutely no fallout.
- Fantastic pigmentation, goes fully opaque.
- Unique and absolutely gorgeous shade.
- Very good staying power.
- Does not crease.
Cons of Urban Decay Lounge Eyeshadow:
- Expensive.
- Application works better with fingertips rather than brush ( but this is not really a con).
