My Experience with Alterna Caviar Repair RX Instant Recovery Conditioner:
Alterna Instant Recovery Conditioner comes housed in a unique hourglass-shaped plastic bottle. It has a very unique dispense mechanism. You have to twist the cap and squeeze the product out. I personally find this mechanism quite irritating since you have to squeeze the bottle hard to get the product out of the bottle.
When I got this shampoo and conditioner duo from Alternal, I had finished up my OUAI shampoo and conditioner and since I wash my hair daily, I was looking for stuff which was mild and had no parabens or sulfate in it. Alterna hair care offers such shampoos and conditioners, and I have been loving the mask from the “Caviar” range for a while now.
This conditioner has a thick, creamy consistency and has a mild fruity scent. I generally like keeping the conditioner in my hair for 3 to 5 minutes and then wash off, but this one was hard to take off the hair. It made my dry hair so oily that I felt that there was residue even after I washed it off.
It did hydrate my hair and did make it soft, shiny and smooth as well, but it made my hair ends look sticky and flat, but it did make my ends look sticky and flat, which is not what I want from my conditioner. I have scant hair and prefer shampoo and conditioner that adds volume to my hair instead of taking it away. I would repurchase Ouai shampoo and conditioner after I finish this Alterna one off since they are less expensive and are worth the hype. I really don’t like how it makes my hair look. If you have super dry hair, this might work for you, but only if you are ready to compromise with less volume.
