Balea Active Charcoal Gel Face Wash Review

Skin type: dry and sensitive

Hello, everyone!

Balea is now offering a new range of products with activated charcoal. I was so impressed with Sukin Oil Balancing Purifying Gel Cleanser that I bought the Balea one, too. Let’s see how it fared.

Price: €2 for 150ml
Product Description:
The Balea cleansing gel with active carbon cleanses the skin gently and frees it from sebum and environmental deposits.
• The cleansing properties of the activated carbon formulation eliminate make-up and dirt particles without drying the skin.
• The black gel turns into a fine foam when it comes into contact with water and provides a delicate, soft and purified skin image immediately.
• The mild formulation with panthenol and vitamin E helps to maintain the natural balance of the skin.
• For a refreshed and wonderfully cleansed skin.
• Vegan.

Usage:
Apply morning and evening to the moistened skin and apply a little water. Rinse with warm water. Avoid eye area. Contact with textiles or similar. As this can lead to discoloration.

My Experience with Balea Active Charcoal Gel Face Wash:

The packaging is not fancy. The face wash comes in a plastic tube with a flip lid. The lid is very secure. It also opens and closes easily. The overall packaging is functionally good. There is a lot of black color in the packaging, which does not really look very well done.

The face wash itself has a shampoo-like consistency. I need a coin sized amount to wash my face and neck areas. The face wash is black in colour. I wet my face and then rub the product over my face. The product hardly generates any lather.

I am quite used to of using products that do not lather, hence feel satisfied after use. But if you prefer the product to lather then this is not the one for you. The product spreads well due to the smooth consistency, though. I rub my face gently for a few seconds and then wash the product off with warm water.

The fragrance is mild and not overwhelming. I like the fragrance of this one. I have dry and sensitive skin but the product does not rip natural oils from my skin. My skin feels very clean and bright. The product also didn’t cause any breakout or redness.

The only con is that the product can stain your clothes and also the sink. But the stain goes away when the cloth is washed or when the sink is wiped. It’s not a big negative but something to care for while washing your face. Overall, it’s a good face wash and an effective product for the price.

Pros of Balea Active Charcoal Gel Face Wash:

• Mild for all skin types
• Mild fragrance
• Does not dry out the skin
• Contains activated charcoal
• Removes dirt effectively
• Inexpensive
• Vegan

Cons of Balea Active Charcoal Gel Face Wash:

• Can stain clothes and sink
• Unavailability in India
