I recently spotted the new Happy Lips balms from Blistex. I always have Blistex Mango in my purse as I absolutely love the product. There were two new varieties and I picked them both. Today’s review is all about Blistex Happy Lips Kiss me Softly Orange Lip Balm Read on to know more.

My Experience with Blistex Happy Lips Orange Lip Balm:
The product comes in a sealed pack. It is very easy to pick out the product from the plastic wrap. There is all the necessary information on the back of the package. The design of the outer package is nice. Once you take out the lip balm, it is pretty basic. It is orange in color denoting the variant and has a plastic body with a transparent plastic cap. The cap has orange lips imprinted on it. The cap closes with a click and closes very well. You can twist up the lip balm from the bottom like a lipstick. Overall, the design is good and pretty basic.
The lip balm is transparent. It imparts no color when applied. It has an orangey flavor and you can feel it on the lips too. The flavor feels a little artificial. But, it smells sweet and fresh and not like the orange I had expected.
The product glides very well on the lips and with ease. It does create a sheen finish and this can make it look a little oily. The greasy residue stays on the lips for a while before it gets absorbed. The product doesn’t feel on lips. I absolutely love the lightweight texture. The product is very moisturizing too. It makes the lips very soft and supple!
You can feel that it is well hydrated and nourished. However, the moisturization is short-lived. You need to reapply the balm every 4-5 hours. Also, the lips absorb all the moisture from the balm and within a few minutes it feels little dry. The product doesn’t mask any dry flakes on the lips. You need to well exfoliate your lips to lock in the moisture. The product also doesn’t help in covering and treating any pigmentation. So if you have dark lips, this can be only used for hydration and nothing else.
The product is claimed to have sunscreen but, I do not see the protection factor anywhere. The product is also not a good base for lipsticks as it makes the lips a little oily and the lipsticks might adhere onto it immediately and you need to wait for a while before lipstick application. Overall, I am not sure if Blistex changed its formula, but I am not so happy with this one. It is not a must buy, but it is a good try if you like flavored lip balms. So, summing up

- Travel-friendly package.
- Affordable.
- Lightweight texture.
- Moisturizes the lips for around 4-5 hours.
- Contains sunscreen.
- Fresh sweet smell.
Cons of Blistex Happy Lips Orange Lip Balm:
- Sheen finish which can be a little greasy.
- Doesn’t eliminate any dry flakes.
- Not a good base for lipsticks.
