Time for some more Bobbi Brown goodness! I reviewed the shade “Angel” for you earlier. This review is on a vibrant shade which sure packs a Punch – pun intended!! So, let us find out more about this shade from the Bobbi brown Crushed Lip Color range.

My Experience with Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color Punch:

Packaging: The brand kept the packaging in line with the Bobbi Brown aesthetics by doing a cuboid back casing and yet gave it a fun and efficient twist. Each of the lipsticks have a colour-coded band which extends to the lipstick tube itself. The colour of the band corresponds to the colour of the lipstick inside. So, if you have more than one of these, it’s easy to identify the shade from the packaging itself, plus it looks more fun and vibrant!

The lipstick bullet is a regular twist-up with the cap clicking soundly into place. The lip is indented which allows better precision in application. It comes packaged in the usual black cardboard box.

Shade: The shade “Punch” is a medium, bright, vibrant red toned pink. I used to love shades like this and have quite a few of these in my stash. They are the vibrant shades which instantly brighten the face and grab attention. So, you can get away with an easy eye look if you are sporting this on your lips. In my opinion, the shade would work across skin tones and depths of skin.

Texture: The formula of this lipstick is in line with the shade I reviewed earlier – Angel. It is unlike any I have seen before. The closest dupe to this formula that I can think of is the Clinique Chubby Sticks Intense. But even the Chubby Stick Intense are a bit creamier than these and more pigmented. These don’t feel creamy, instead, they feel like a lip balm texture. The lipstick glides on effortlessly but does not have too much slip where it would slide on the lip line either. It deposits pigment evenly. It is almost like a lip balm with buildable pigmentation. It is definitely hydrating. The texture is very lightweight and moisturizing. The lips look youthful. It fills in the lines on the lips and make them look more hydrated. What is most remarkable about the lipsticks is that the texture does not build up even when the pigment does. Meaning, normally, if a lipstick is not too pigmented, we build the colour by adding more swipes. However, as we add more swipes, we also end up depositing more product which adds texture to the lips and if the lipstick has a cream/satin texture, the product would end up sliding around on the lips. However, that does not happen with this lipstick. I assume it is because the texture is so lightweight. If you have built up the colour and you purse your lips, the lines will show. A problem which is easily sorted by gently dabbing at your lips. Being the texture it is, it will transfer to other surfaces on contact. However, I have shared a remedy for this too. Read on for that.

Pigmentation: Since the shade is so bold, even with a single swipe, you get substantial colour on your lips – like a blotted down stained look. The colour can be easily built up – this means about 5-6 swipes atleast. My lip swatches and FOTDs are with built up colours so that you can appreciate the difference between 2 shades. However, I have shared arm swatches where one side is a single swipe of the lipstick and the other side is with multiple swipes. This will enable you to understand how low the pigmentation is and how richly it can be built up. Also, I have shared my lip swatch and FOTD of the stain it leaves once it has been fully built up and then blotted out. This colour is so vibrant that one can actually use the lipstick this way and never have to worry about the product transferring at all.

Lasting Power: Even when used as a single swipe,this shade gives good 3-3.5 hours wear. With multiple swipes, and the colour at full intensity, this shade stays the whole day because even when it starts wearing off, the stain it leaves is so rich that the stain itself gives another 4 hours of wear and has to be take off with a makeup remover. It does wear off evenly and does not get patchy.

Fragrance: There is a slight fragrance but nothing too discernible, unless you put your nose to it.

This is such a gorgeous shade!! Absolutely stunning! And definitely one of my favourite shades from this range! And the product allows you to wear the shade with whatever depth you want – from a soft stained look to a bold voluptuous lip to a bold stained look and anything in between.
