I have loved Bourjois products a lot, except their eye pencils which smudge on me badly. I wanted to try a blush from the brand too. I had gone to buy the much-raved Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, and the SA said the magic words, which always make us buy more – “free gift!” These gifts are most of the times useless, but it doesn’t stop me buying useless stuff. Well, I am not proud of the fact that I fall for this tactic most of the times.
Well, done with the rambling, I am going to review a blush which I had bought just to get a useless bag from Bourjois, but I am really happy that this blush is not as usual the useless or crappy stuff. It is a very pretty shade which brides-to-be would love to have in their kits.
About Bourjois Blush in 11 Brun Illusion:
Little Round Pot blush Ultra fine and easy to blend powder blush. Our timeless blusher has been around for almost 150 years and have made Bourjois famous worldwide thanks to its amazing texture and packaging.
The baked texture transforms when applied to the skin into an ultra-fine pressed powder, which is easy to apply and blends impeccably. One stroke of the brush reveals the irresistible aroma of the rose scented powder. Its built-in mirror and brush is perfect for touch-ups on the go! The Little round pot blush exists in 12 shades to match all skin tones.
How To Apply:
For a natural result, smile and apply the blush on your cheekbones with circular movements. Then stretch up to the temples. If you have applied too much, don’t worry; just apply a coat of powder on top of it!

These blushes are housed in a compact, round pot which in itself is very cute! I love the fact that all the pots are the same color as the blush, not like my Elizabeth Arden blushes which all look alike. Phew! These blushes come with a small brush which is not crappy like all the brushes we get with blushes, this one is an exception. This brush works fine for touchups. It also has a small mirror inside which again is a bonus. Portable enough to carry in purse.
The color is copper with gold shimmer.
My Experience with Bourjois Blush 11 Brun Illusion:
I would say this is one of the highest pigmented range of blushes I have seen. This shade can be used lightly to get a nice glow on cheeks for day, just sufficient to give a warmth to the face. For night outs, use it with a bit heavy hand and you will get a nice copper + golden shine on your cheeks. When I say copper + golden shine, don’t get scared, it won’t make you look painted. It looks beautiful with ethnic attires. I also love this shade for eye makeup, I know it is not recommended but this shade is so pretty that I wanted to try it once and I loved it!
I love this shade for ethnic party wears. It is superbly pigmented and when used with a light hand, it gives a beautiful glow to my cheeks like gold dust. I am quite impressed by the staying power too. It stays for good 7-8 hours. At this price, the staying power and quality is good. I must say I am impressed by this brand even more!

Yes. I have heard Lilas D’or is a dupe of Nars Orgasm. I am going to buy it next! Can’t afford NARS, but this one I can.
