My Experience with Calvin Klein Truth Eau de Parfum Spray:
Truth by Calvin Klein comes in a sealed, cream colored cardboard package. It is long and sleek. Other than the ingredient list, there is not much information on the package. The EDP comes in a sleek, transparent, curved bottle with a silver-gold shiny cap. The cap closes with a click. The quality feels very superior. The name is mentioned on the bottle on the side. The bottle has a hint of yellow to match the overall package. The nozzle dispenses the liquid effectively without any issue. Overall, the package is very classy, elegant and sleek.
I wanted to go for 100ml because I find the price difference between the smaller and bigger one very small. Truth was created by Alberto Morillas, Jacques Cavallier and Thierry Wasser. This perfume has one of the most confused fragrances I ever owned. It is a mixture of the cool and dark fragrances! The main notes are Bamboo, Vetiver, Patchouli, Bergamot, Lemon, and Clover. The heart notes are Sandalwood, Peony, Lily, Blackberry, Mimosa. The base notes are Amber, Musk and Vanilla.
When the perfume is first sprayed, it almost gives a fresh citrusy fragrance, very fresh, and it takes me to those early cool mornings’ memories. I was not even sure what I was smelling but it felt refreshing. These notes instantly cools me. Within 20 minutes, the perfume settles a bit and you smell more floral fragrances in which Lilies and Peony dominate. One of the notes that remain throughout and is the strongest is Clover. The smell of fresh Bamboo and Clover remain throughout the entire time and also leaves a hint behind on your clothes.
Even though the floral notes dominate, the perfume is not very girly and it feels very strong and powerful. The floral notes stay for a short period of time and the perfume settles as a dark fragrance with Musk and Sandalwood dominating the hints of Vanilla. This note is shady and it stays for a long period of time. Since the Musk stays for a long period of time, it can also be used by men.
The fragrance is not feminine or girly. It is very strong and made for a mature, settled woman! For some reason, whenever I smell the perfume, it reminds me of Angelina Jolie from The Tourist. I, somehow, relate this perfume to her character. This is not everyone’s perfume. This is not a date night perfume but a perfume you wear to the office or a business meeting.
The longevity of the perfume is satisfactory. It stays for around 4-5 hours and fades away quickly. However, it leaves a hint on the clothes which stay for longer durations. The EDP can be used at any time of the day and somehow I love it. I was looking for an office perfume and this makes it a perfect one. It is not overpowering and is a bit sensual making it an apt perfume for daily wear. So, summing up:
