Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion – Review

Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion – Review

Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion : So I’ve been meaning to do this review ever since I did the one on Cetaphil cleanser and I finally got around to doing it since I won’t have access to this gorgeous camera for the next few weeks.

The Cetaphil bottle looks different as I’ve purchased this one in Australia, however the lotion is available in India, unfortunately I am unaware of the price, if any one knows the price in INR please do let me know. In $ however this one was NOT cheap – It cost me 16 AUD (but right now the AUD is at parity more or less with the USD so its about the same), but it’s a BIG bottle, 500 ml of moisturizing goodness so I don’t think it’s a bad deal 😀

About Cetaphil Moisturizing lotion –
Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion is a non-greasy lotion formulated to moisturise and protect skin and is ideal for everyday total body moisturisation. Lighter in texture than the Cetaphil Moisturising Cream, it contains emollients and humectants proven to bind water to the skin and prevent moisture loss.
Suitable for: All skin types, infants, oily skin, acne and rosacea.

Note: Dry skin beauties, this will work fine for you but if you want something stronger keep a look out for Cetaphil Moisturising cream 😀

I know on the bottle it says for dry, sensitive skin. Apparently the old packaging of all firangi cetaphil products used to say that :S the new packaging doesn’t – it looks like this and says its for all skin types, so does the website ….. hope that clears the confusion

What Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion claims:

Clinically proven moisture – doubling effect
In clinical studies, Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion doubled the moisture of the skin in just four days compared to untreated controls.1

The bottle has some other claims – while you are at it, take a look at the ingredients.

Swatch – it’s a nice light lotion just like it claim. No fragrance but that mild lingering scent of all the chemicals. It doesn’t last though and you would have to press your nose against the lotion or your skin to really smell it.

Look – all gone. Its sinks into the skin like a breeze. No fuss, no need for minutes of rubbing in. This lotion applies like a dream!!!! And as you can see, it leaves behind no shine, nor and sign of having applied anything to the skin at all. No grease no chi chip !
However – if you do have oily skin like I do, this will get chip chip after a few hours on your face. I prefer to put this at night if I do put it on my face but mostly I just use it for my hands and legs, where it’s my hero <3

Dry skin Beauties :p I think this would be fine on your face, just a pea sized amount will do the trick.
On the hands and legs this lotion is about as good as they come. It’s a no frills no fuss type of product, it does what its meant to do (moisturise) and that’s about it. This product is not for you if you love heady scents but if you just want a darn good moisturizer – this is it !

Will I re-purchase Cetaphil Lotion: Honestly I am not sure. I bought this originally for my body and face. But this is too oily for my face so now I only use it on my body. I don’t have issues with sensitive skin anywhere else but my face, so I am ok with using some yummy smelling stuff from TBS or anywhere else. So Cetaphil lotion is not in the same league as its cleanser which is like air for my face but as a product its still pretty awesome 😀

  3. hi jahnavi
i purchased cetaphil moisturising lotion recently but its too oily for my combination skin……
i use it only at nights on my face as aheavy duty night cream……….but wont repurchase it

  4. I guess a 100 ml bottle costs around 200 in India…saw it long back but them it was a tube not even a bottle……will check the price again…have been wanting to buy it since long and the ingredients are actually good…none of the bad reputed ingredients….

  5. Excellent review Janhavi…! I have used both cetaphil lotion and cream. Both are excellent quality and far better at giving super smooth skin than some high end brands. While the lotion has macadamia oil, which can cause breakouts in some cases, the cream has almond oil and that suits almost every skin type. It’s a no fuss, no frill product that simply delivers it’s word. It’s a one stop shop for all those sensitive skin girls out there.

  6. I have been using cetaphil gentle cleanser and moisturizer for almost a year , I bought it from USA and I think I’m in love with my skin. My skin has never felt so better *happydance* . It is just awesome. I would recommend cetaphil to all ladies out there with troublesome skin
