Hope all of you are doing fine! I am here to share my views on Clinique Cushion Compact, which is getting my love these days. Ever since Korean brands stormed beauty market with their cushion compact makeup products, everyone is going ga-ga over this innovative formula and packaging. In fact, I was also intrigued by these cushion compact products and when Clinique launched their cushion compact makeup, I knew I had to try it. Surprisingly, I always had a “hit or miss” relation with Clinique face makeup products, still I always love trying their new launches because they never break out on my skin. As always, Clinique has managed to gain attention by launching this cushion compact in limited yet universal shades. Let’s read more about Clinique Moderately Fair Super City Sun Block BB Cushion Compact Broad Spectrum SPF 50!
$35 for 0.4 Oz, excludes shipping and tax.
Product Description: Get liquid perfection and protection in a compact with Super City Block, a BB cushion compact by Clinique. The buildable, breathable, fluid makeup feels cool and weightless on your skin and delivers a long-lasting natural-matte finish. High-level SPF and antioxidants help protect against skin-damaging UV, impurities and environmental aggressors, too. It comes in a ready-to-go compact with a puff applicator.
My Experience with Clinique Super City Block BB Cushion Compact Broad Spectrum SPF 50:
The BB cushion compact comes in a simple yet classy white double lid compact packaging, housing the puffy applicator in upper compartment and soggy cushion makeup at the base, protected with an additional seal which is removable. It does have a mirror attached to the flip top opening lid, pretty much to my delight. I absolutely find it complete and perfect in every aspect.
I like its soft and smooth sponge which comes with a finger grip attachment at one side for ease of holding the pad when you are working on the face. Moreover, it soaks lesser product than usual spongy applicators and helps to achieve a smooth and seamless finish on my skin.
Clinique has launched this BB product in 4 limited shades but I am hopeful that these shades will cover a variety of Asian Indian skin tones since they all come out a bit darker than what we see in the swatches. So, after a trial and error session with samples, I picked the shade “Moderately Fair” which seemed a nearly perfect match for my skin tone as it adjusts closer to my natural (bit uneven skin tone) skin tone as of now. Oh yes, initially, the shade might appear like palest beige, but it soon adjusts to my skin tone when dabbing on with sponge, thereby imparting “my skin but better” look every time. In fact, I love its thick yet lightweight formula which is pretty different than thick BB creams that I have tried earlier. However, it wouldn’t give a natural look, if you know what I mean? Like, I don’t get that natural makeup look with this product on my skin, though it is not on the heavier side, but then it is pretty thicker than tinted moisturizers; still better than usual BB creams to put it this way. Not to forget it easily forgives minor dryness and effortlessly conceals minor-medium pigmentation issue, acne marks, open pores as well.
If I am going for my shoots, then I would anytime prefer foundation coverage but for routine rehearsals or outdoor hopping, I find this BB product way handy. Believe me, when I say this, I just need to dab this BB product on well moisturized skin and that’s it no prepping up with primers or follow up with concealers, setting power even; I just spray on Boscia mattifying makeup spray for additional matte benefits, otherwise, I skip it as well unless I need to stay out for more than 5 hours. I just need to apply it light handed on the skin and it just sets, to my complexion like a magic, imparting even toned, flawless, semi-matte finish, and it has not broken out my skin till date.
I am also impressed by the way it stays for 5+ hours on my oily skin without oxidizing or accentuating my oily skin concerns; I do feel the need of mattiying my T zone after 6th hour, but overall, no complaints. It is quite surprising as well that it does not appear ghastly white on my skin even with spf 50 content unlike what usual sun protection BB creams do on my paler skin tone. I would love to get it again considering its much lower price range as compared to my first favorite Amorepacific cushion compact makeup. I would definitely recommend it to beauties blessed with oily, normal or dry skin with minor-medium concerns as it provides buildable coverage with flawless finish.
