I can’t stop grinning, guess what, I have stumbled upon the perfect “foundation” makeup that I have been looking for so long *happydance* Its a perfect match for my skin tone and it fits my idea of a “perfect” foundation, though Clinique has labeled it has “compact makeup,” I would call it foundation 😛 Read on to know more about this product.

My Take on Clinique Even Better Compact Makeup SPF 15:

There’s a liquid foundation – Clinique Even Better Liquid Foundation that I haven’t picked up yet.  Honestly speaking, I was in a dilemma whether to pick the liquid foundation or this compact makeup first, but when I went and checked at the Clinique counter, I was totally bowled over by the sleek packaging of this product.  Its a sleek mirror packaging.  There’s also a nice mirror inside.  I was no way picking up the liquid foundation over this.  Though I am a little disappointed with the amount of product; there’s only 10 gm of it for Rs. 2100, but never mind, its an awesome product.

There’s a sponge applicator provided which though is smooth and not scratchy, I rarely use it, I always use a foundation brush to pick and blend the compact makeup.

The compact is a creamy one, though it goes matte and powdery when applied on to the face.  It superbly blends into the skin to provide an even finish which looks completely natural, not at all cakey or chalky.  There are 29 shades available and I am sure if you can match up to a correct shade, you are going to love it! My shade is “Ginger.”

This compact makeup provides medium to full coverage, yes full coverage!  Added benefit is the SPF 15 feature.

This product is completely suitable for oily skin/combination skin, though those with dry skin would have to check it over at the counter.  I love the matte and even look it provides.  Topping it off with loose powder or pressed makeup is totally recommended because it transfers to mobile screens.

Removing it with a good makeup remover is also recommended because it does not come off completely with face wash.  I had washed my face once with a face wash and just to test, I used a cleansing milk after that, and there were traces of this makeup on it!

Clinique Even Better Compact Makeup 12

I have a completely hopeless oily and acne-prone skin, but this hasn’t given acne or zits, yay!

I have seen that it stays well on the face for 3 hours, but after that it kind of comes off completely, but anyway, I really don’t think foundations should be on the face for any longer, maximum 5 hours, not more than that.

Clinique Even Better Compact Makeup 13

Regarding long-term benefits in terms of even-ing out skin tone, I don’t think it does miracle in that aspect.  Actually, the even tone finish is instant – as soon as you blend the makeup in, you would see the results.

This is my favourite Clinique product and I am going to purchase it forever!  I think those who are in continuous search of that “perfect” foundation, should check this out, I am not telling you to “buy this,” just check it out, it might work for you just as it did for me 🙂

Summing up the pros and cons:

Pros of Clinique Even Better Compact Makeup SPF 15:

  • Provides even, smooth, and natural finish.
  • Medium to full coverage.
  • Works as a foundation for me.
  • Evens out skin tone instantly, covers flaws.
  • Matte finish.
  • Good for oily and combination skin.
  • Does not break out acne-prone skin.
  • Comes with SPF 15.
  • Sleek and attractive packaging.

Cons of Clinique Even Better Compact Makeup SPF 15:

  • Transfers on to mobile screens easily.
  • Need to set it up with loose or pressed powder.

IMBB Rating: 5/5
