ColourPop Lippie Stix Lumière Review

Hello!
I am so glad I finally got my hands on ColourPop! It is sometimes great to have a relative in the United States :D. I usually don’t like dusky pinks or mauves but Lumière really grabbed my attention. It does seem quite pink but in different lights, there is this mauvish look to it which I love a lot. If you want to know what I think about this lippie, then keep on reading.

Product Description:
A dusty mauve pink in a matte finish created by the lovely Kathleen Lights – “I wanted a color that both bold and shy people could wear. It’s not a nude…it would look great on EVERYONE!”

My Experience with ColourPop Lippie Stix Lumière:

closed bullet

Packaging: The packaging is quite travel friendly and cute. I love the white basic packaging! It is supereasy to carry around in your purse and work with.

outer cover

Pigmentation: The shade is a nude with pink and mauve undertones. It is quite a universal shade and can be used as a base shade for several lipsticks. The colour is highly pigmented which is incredible!

Texture: The texture is creamy, soft and buttery. The liquid lipsticks from ColourPop have a rough kind of feel to them but the lippie stix are quite smooth with the texture.

package

The fragrance gets a big sore thumb! It smells like something picked up from the drugstore which is unpleasant. The colour does not go on evenly and you have to work with it a little. It does feel quite heavy on the lips and transfers a lot. It does not dry down completely matte which is great because it gives a creamy and sheen effect to the lips throughout the day. This colour stayed on my lips for about 4 hours and did transfer on my coffee mug.
The formula is good compared to the liquid lipsticks because they are crazy drying! But these lippies are drying too. If you have berserk chapped lips, then I would suggest you exfoliate and use coconut oil before applying this lipstick. Let the oil soak into the lips well before you glide this on. Even though I did use a lip balm, it did dry out my lips after a while.

The lippie settles into fine lines and if you have cracked lips, then that will be highlighted because this is a light shade. Other than that, it is a little difficult to remove. The darker shades need an oil-based remover so that they don’t stain the lips. With lighter shades, you don’t have to work too much on removing them.
Overall, I am not the biggest fan of the shade but it mixed in well with darker shades. I know people are going to be shocked with the review but I am being completely honest. I have used several different lipsticks and these did not wow me like I was hoping!
