ColourPop recently released a new range of lip product – “Ultra Blotted Lip.” Ultra-blotted lips are similar to a lip stain. As part of their collaboration with Alexis Ren, they had released “Blotted Lips” earlier. Ultra-blotted lips are the sister to the blotted lips formula. I bought three shades from this range – Out of Beach, Doozy, and Slide. In this post, I will be reviewing the shade “Slide.”

Product Description:

It is completely transfer-proof and long-wearing but also lightweight and comfortable. No cracking or flaking! Leaves lips smooth and fresh. Apply your Ultra Blotted Lip in a thin layer for most comfortable wear.
My Experience with ColourPop Slide Ultra Blotted Lip:
The packaging is pretty standard clear tube with holographic writing on the side – ColourPop Ultra Blotted lip. The bottom of the tube specifies the name “Slide.” The tube has a silver cap. The applicator is a standard doe-foot type. The applicator allows me to fill in the corner of the lips easily. The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product and the ingredients list. The packaging is very travel friendly and lightweight.
Texture and Application: The concept of the ultra-blotted lips is to achieve the look when you apply a lipstick and blot it with a tissue, but it will give you a super matte finish. It doesn’t transfer onto cups like the blotted lips formulae. These blotted lips would give you a “popsicle bitten lips” kind of an effect. The ultra-blotted lips are like lip stains which has a lightweight texture and you can wear it for a more natural look and it’s going to last for a very long time. Once the lipstick dries, it has a powdery light texture to it. There is a no tugging and pulling during application. Even though it’s a matte formula, it’s not drying and is very comfortable to wear. There is no fragrance to the lipstick which is good.
Shade and Finish: “Slide” is described as a “dusty pink” color and it is a beautiful pinkish n*de shade with a purple undertone. It is a perfect wearable shade for every day. This shade will suit light to medium Indian skin tones. This gives me natural-looking, stained lips, which I love. The finish of the lipstick is matte, which feels feather light, powdery to touch.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The lipstick is not super pigmented. If you want a sheer wash of colour, you just swipe the lipstick once. If you want it to be more opaque, you can build the lipstick multiple times till you get the coverage. You can also wear a lip liner underneath if you want an opaque look.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good with this lipstick. It stays on for around 5 to 6 hours. The lipstick actually survives meals and fades away evenly. If you eat an oily meal, then this lipstick does fade away. Overall, I am really happy with the colour payoff, the texture and the longevity of the lipstick. The lipstick can be easily removed with an oil-based makeup remover.

Yes, I do recommend “Slide.” The ultra-blotted formula is suitable for people who don’t want full coverage and the dryness that comes with liquid lipstick, but instead want a lightweight, comfortable lipstick to wear for everyday use which is long wearing also.
