ColourPop Exotic Blotted Lip Review

Skin type: Dry sensitive skin.

I have already reviewed the ColourPop Lexi Blotted Lip and today, I’m reviewing another shade called, Exotic which is described as an orange-red by the brand. This lipstick range is also a collaboration between Colourpop and Alexis Ren who is a famous Instagram model. So, let’s get into the review.

My Experience with ColourPop Exotic Blotted Lip:

ColourPop Exotic Blotted Lip Review

This Blotted Lip Colour comes in a black cardboard box which has the shade name and other details on it. The lip colour comes in a black plastic tube with twist mechanism, just like any other regular lipstick.

Colourpop is a brand that is more associated with bringing high-quality makeup products for everyone at an affordable price and honestly, I have been thoroughly impressed with their products.

The Blotted lip colour promises to be a sheer matte lip colour but, with a comfort factor. I have been waiting for the entire range but eventually, I got only the blotted lip colours along with a few more items. The shade exotic is an orangish red, as described by the brand but for me, it looks more orange-y than red. On my skin, this looks more like orange and make my complexion look even brighter. It looks a bit like MAC dangerous but, it is not that intense.

I use it after prepping my lips on an everyday basis and it doesn’t look offensive during the daytime. The lipstick deposits 60% of the pigments in a single swipe but can be layered up to increase the intensity. There is no smell or taste in it and this lip colour lasts for more than 3 hours with light drinks and snacks. The lipstick breaks down with oily food as well as transfers to cutlery and glasses. It leaves a mild stain and doesn’t look unsightly.

I love the comfortable feeling of this lip colour because it feels like a balm but looks like a lipstick. The other positive point is that ColourPop doesn’t test on animals so, I am glad that I am not hurting anyone for looking nice.
