Body type: dry skin, prone to dry patches and peeling

Last month, I purchased Dove body washes on a ‘buy one, get one free’ offer. I really loved the Dove Purely Pampering Sweet Cream and Peony Nourishing Body Wash and, as it’s finished, I have started using the other one, the Dove Silk Glow Nourishing Body Wash.

My Experience with Dove Silk Glow Nourishing Body Wash:
Dove bars were the high profile soaps we couldn’t afford while I was growing up, and using a Dove soap meant something great in my friend circle. Times changed and, even though I have been using Dove products for some time, several products failed me. It has been ages since I used Dove and this product was one of the few Dove products I bought.
The Dove body wash comes in a signature Dove plastic white bottle with a golden flip cap and matching font. The flip cap is good and doesn’t make the product leak but it is a little flimsy and I would not recommend it for travelling. The body wash is creamy and has a semi-thick consistency similar to conditioners and has minute gold-like shimmer particles that make this wash look glossy. The perfume is sweet and strong.
The body wash is easily spreadable, but doesn’t lather well due to which some product gets wasted. It has a rich fragrance which turns your bathroom into paradise. I have tried using this for a bathtub and the soak is mesmerizing! The smell however doesn’t stay for long; it stays maximum of 0.5-1 hour and then fades away. The body wash, like claimed, makes the skin feel soft and supple, but it dries out soon and a lotion ritual after a bath is mandatory.
I also do not understand the addition of shimmery particles. I thought that it would help in making my skin “glow”, but unfortunately I have not seen their role and they just get washed away with water. I guess these particles are just for a nice presentation. So overall, this body wash just makes the skin soft and supple and provides a nice fragrance. Other than this, there is nothing good about the product! So, summing up:
Pros of Dove Silk Glow Nourishing Body Wash:

• Reasonably priced.
Cons of Dove Silk Glow Nourishing Body Wash:
• Presence of shimmery particles adds unwanted chemicals.
• Dries out skin.
• Not a year around product.
• Does not make the skin glow.
