Hi there lovelies! Today I am reviewing this product from ELF that I have been eyeing for a very long time. The texture just blew me away, they are a dream to work with and blend very nicely. But, do the positives stop there? Read on and find out.

$3
Product Claims:
This vibrant, shimmering, long-wearing color can be worn as an eyeshadow or eyeliner. The shimmery whipped gel texture is easy to blend and lightweight for lasting comfort. Perfect for highlighting and adding extra shine for a glamorous look.
Ingredients:
My Experience with ELF Long-lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow Festivity:
How do they compare to Maybelline Color Inks/Tattoos? Now that I have my hands on them and using them for a while, I can safely say that they don’t compare to the Maybelline Color Ink (Tattoo) line at all. Those set to a crease-free finish and these don’t seem to set. Also, the shimmer feels more finely milled in the Maybelline Color Inks than the ELF one.
Shade: The shade is very interesting. It looks a lot more purply than on camera. Since, the shade I chose is pretty dark, it is more suitable for a night time look if used as a lid shade. You can also use this as a base for any dark shadow for smokey eye. You can also apply it in the outer corner for definition. But, if you were to buy a lighter shade in the same range, then you can definitely use that as lid shade and/or highlight as well.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is pretty average to poor on this one. I feel there is too much shimmer and not enough colour in the shade.
Well did it live upto it’s claims? Actually yes. It is long-lasting and is lustrous. So they nailed that part. Also, the texture is the biggest plus. When I used this alone with no other product underneath it, the product did not transfer or budge, which is surprising considering usually my eyeshadows will crease within 2 hours of no primer. In the photo, I have used the Festivity shade all over the lid and lower lashline. I blended it out with my compact powder in the crease. After a nap with this on, the shimmer (not the colour) transferred all around the eyes.
If you were to use it as liner, you might have to go over the line a few times to get it opaque enough. Instead, you can also go over your normal black liner to give it some shimmer (the colour of course won’t show through).
Pros of ELF Long-lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow Festivity:
- Amazing mousse-cream texture.
- Easy to apply.
- Blends well.
- Layers well.
- Long lasting and stays put.
Cons of ELF Long-lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow Festivity:
- The shadow does not set.
- Shimmer is not finely milled and is chunky.
- Average to poor pigmentation.
IMBB Rating:
3.5/5
Would I repurchase ELF Long-lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow Festivity?
Probably not, since I am not a fan of chunky shimmer.
While you can use it as a stand-alone eyeshadow, I think it will function best as a base (I would suggest using primer to make extra sure) to hold on to other eyeshadows.
