I am on sort of an Elemis High currently. As I had mentioned in my previous few posts, I have made a few new alterations to my skin care routine and have found a new found love for Elemis products, my constant ravings about their products over here are most definitely the after effects. My Experience with Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator
Like all other Elemis products, the packaging of this exfoliator is classic and simple. I guess the brand aims mainly at older women and hence prefer to keep the ‘eye catching’ gimmicks (that would generally attract more girls who are between 18-24, including me) at bay. It has a bit more sophistication to its packaging, is very classy and can be definitely labelled as a luxury product. It is a simple metallic tube, with a silver screw cap on top. Completely basic packaging! But it looks absolutely luxurious.
The product itself is clear, with very tiny and barely noticeable micro-beads which are obviously in the formula for exfoliation. The texture of this exfoliator is smooth, not very granule-y like many other exfoliators I have used in the past. When rubbed on to the face, I could barely feel the granules on my face, if I am honest. And since we are so used to feel sort of a friction or grittiness on our faces, when we make use of such products, I was left a bit perplexed. I guess Elemis has totally lived up to its claim of being ‘Gentle’. Since the exfoliator was very very very gentle on my face. Which was a great thing in my opinion, since my skin is so sensitive, it was the perfect exfoliation experience as it did not cause my skin to flare up, break out or get irritate! However, since psychologically we are so used to the feeling of exfoliation, I wished the beads were a little more noticeable on my skin. Albeit, it was a gentle cleanse, which could most definitely be used daily without any apprehension because of its light texture. Despite the barely there granules, I feel as though it does a relatively good job on the skin, if used with the Elemis tri-enzyme resurfacing facial wash, it will provide you with a great glow to the skin. As both of these products aim at gently eradicating your old dead skin cells that cause dulness and induce the renewal of skin. It also leaves my skin feeling hydrated! Also, it smells lovely, the fragrance is not overpowering and has hints of roses to it. It feels like a luxurious experience whilst incorporating this into my skin regime. Despite the claim of us being able to make use of it daily, I prefer using exfoliators and other maintenance products once a week. However, since this product contains jojoba oil, I would say it would be better for very very oily skin beauties, to stay away from this. I would make use of this product in London’s winter and would probably not like to use it in cities like Mumbai, where humidity engulfs me. (Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE and MISS the Mumbai weather 🙁 ).

Cons of Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator
• If you prefer exfoliators with noticeable micro-beads, you will not like this product that much. As psychologically, you might not feel as though it would do much difference.
• It is a little tough to rinse off, and would take a little extra time than usual.
• Cannot be used by ladies with very oily skin, especially in humid cities.
• It is relatively pricey!
• Contains Parabens.
Would I repurchase Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator again?
Probably not, I think I will take time in finishing this product off and I slightly prefer Elemis’ skin buff (which I will review later) over this, so it might be a miss from me.
Would I recommend Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator?
It is great for sensitive skin, that easily flares up due to scrubbing. So if you have such skin, definitely give this one a try. It is also good for ladies with mature skin, since it is so gentle and would definitely not induce more wrinkles or fine lines.
