My experience with Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask:
I got this product without giving a second thought when I saw numerous pictures of this mask everywhere in the internet. I bought this as a fun skincare product, but it ended up being more than that! This mask is a bubble clay mask. It is carbonated and so when it comes in contact with air, it starts bubbling! This is the basic concept of the mask.
The mask comes in a simple jar container and it also comes with a spatula, which is very useful in scooping out the product and also in applying the product evenly. I found the spatula more comfortable for applying because, it applies the mask thick and evenly.
The mask itself is grey in colour and the consistency is like a goo. The mask itself is very sticky in nature and this is why the spatula is very convenient. The fragrance of the mask is similar to a detergent or perfume, but in a pleasant way.
Since the product can turn into bubbles on contact with air, it is important to close the lid tightly and immediately after taking the product out. For each application, only a small amount of the product will be enough as shown in the picture. The product should not be applied in a very thin layer because, it will not form that many bubbles and the dramatic effect will be lost!
As soon as I have applied the product, I can feel the tingling sensation. After a minute or so, the bubbles started forming and the mask started turning into a frothy layer. As the bubbles were forming, I could hear the sound of it. After nearly 10 minutes, the complete mask had turned foamy. After that, I gently massaged my face over the foam and I could hear the bubbles bursting!
After massaging, the foam turns back into clay, and the foaming up process starts again. We will be tempted to do it again and again, but it is not advisable to keep the mask on for more than 10 minutes.
After that, I washed off the mask by massaging and the washing process was very difficult. It lathers and lathers on contact with water, and it seemed like a never ending process! But once washed off completely, I was so surprised to see the effects. It was like a complete makeover. If you are someone with oily skin, acne-prone skin, increased sebum and pore problems, you will love it! I cannot say the same for dry skin, because this mask is very drying! But, if you follow it up with hydration and moisturizing, it will be beneficial for dry skin too.
It cleanses and also exfoliates very well and I could not wait to use it the next time. I generally use it only once a week because of the dryness it causes. It can over exfoliate your skin if you use it too much. Also, while applying, you should be careful on the areas around the eyes and above the upper lip. As it starts bubbling, the bubbles could end up going through your nostrils and it might irritate your nose.
Overall, this was a very fun mask to use and at the same time, it was very effective for my skin.
