Hello Lovely Ladies!
I read Neha’s post on her collection of eleven Elle 18 lipsticks and it got me thinking if I had any that had not been reviewed. So I pulled them out from the nook and crannies of my room, where they lay hiding complacently, almost unused. The one in the shade Prune Splash has not been reviewed yet, so here you go. This shade has been worn by me not more than a couple of times, not because I don’t like the shade but I have almost given up wearing lipsticks. Here is how I liked it.
Rs. 100 for 4.3ml
Cocoa Butter, Jojoba, Rose Water are among those that are mentioned.
Young and vibrant, Elle 18 is the choice of today’s young women, who want to define their own style statement.
My Experience with Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick in Shade Prune Splash:
Elle 18, the 100 buck lipstick is mighty popular with not just people on budget but anyone who loves variety without compromising on quality. I own a couple of them and I don’t even wear lipsticks on a regular basis. Coming to this particular shade, Prune Splash, when seen from the packaging, appears to be a darker shade of bronze with tiny glittering particles about it. Now, I am not really a fan of anything that glitters, with perhaps the exception of diamonds :D, but I don’t hate this shade. Reason, the glitters in Prune Shade are tiny and they do not glitter per se. Instead, they, in combination with the brown of the creamy part of the lipstick turn the colour of the lipstick into a nice bronze that looks lovely when worn both during the day and the evening. It takes about four to five swipes of the lipstick for this particular shade to show.
It looks as good when paired with lip glosses, as when worn by itself. I topped it once with Street Wear Color Rich lip gloss in Choco Bloom and once with Revlon Color Burst lip gloss in Papaya. Both looked equally appealing. This is a shade that would look good on just about anyone. The staying power is around two hours, without eating. One thing I noticed is that it smells like a bitter chocolate unlike say, Coral Shine that has a bubblegum -like smell. One plus point of Elle 18 color Pop lipsticks is that they are travel friendly. Their caps would never come undone in a bag. All things said and done, lovely shade from a great range of products. I will recommend it to everyone.
Pro Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick in Shade Prune Splash:
• Shade is such that would look good on all skin tones.
Cons of Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick in Shade Prune Splash:
• It could do with a better staying power.
4/5, Rating a Rs.100 lipstick of such good quality anything below 4 would be unfair.
Will I Repurchase Elle 18 Color Pops Lipstick in Shade Prune Splash?
Definitely, I will get this shade again. ( The other shades that I most certainly will repurchase are Coral shine and Cinnamon Bun.)
