Today, I will be reviewing a silver eye pencil from the brand Essence.  Let’s get started 🙂

My Experience with Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil – 05 C’est La Vie:

Packaging: I bought this one along with “Coolest Chic.”  The packaging of this eye pencil is silver in colour and the text on it is printed in black. The eye pencil is retractable, so no wastage of product. It is sleek and very handy. The cap fits snugly. All in all, the pencil is very travel friendly.

Color:  It’s a metallic silver colour with very fine shimmer particles. It’s unique! When you smudge it, the shimmers show up. Now, this shade doesn’t smudge so easily. I tried to remove it, but it did not budge an inch!

Pigmentation:  The pigmentation is good.  Enough colour deposits in one swipe, but if you really want deep colour, two to three swipes of it does a pretty good job. The shade is buildable.

Texture:  Thankfully, this shade’s tip doesn’t crumble or melt off like other Essence eye pencils. It’s creamy enough to glide on your eyes easily without tugging or pulling, but not enough creamy to melt off. The eye pencil is lightweight. You don’t feel the heaviness while building up the shade.

Staying Power:  This is what surprised me! It actually stayed a lot longer than “Coolest Chic.” It stayed on for 4-5 hours! So, I am happy that at least this shade has greater staying power.

Summing up the pros and cons:

Pros of Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil – 05 C’est La Vie:

• Nice silver shade.
• Buildable.
• Stays for several hours without smudging.
• Travel friendly.
• Affordable.
• Good pigmentation.
• Glides easily.

Cons of Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil – 05 C’est La Vie:

• The only con for me is that I can’t wear this shade on a daily basis as it’s too cool to wear to a degree college.  But for those occasions where I’m going out with friends and all, this shade would definitely stand out!

Final Verdict:

If you are in junior college, you would definitely love this. The rest of us can wear the shade on special occasions.  This one’s a very pretty shade that should suit almost all skin tones. I think it’s worth a try!
