Why should you buy Colorbar I Glide pencils?

  • The eye pencils are soft, creamy and glide like a dream on your eyes.
  • They are waterproof. Even if you splash water on you face, the eye liner would stay as is.
  • You may smudge the liner within 10-15 seconds of applying to get the soft smokey look. After that it sets for (I don’t know) 7 hours, 8 hours..
  • I packaging is cute. The caps are slightly rounded unlike the regular square caps.
  • The ends of the pencils are coloured. It helps in locating the colour easily.
  • It doesn’t come off with my Fab India Lavander Cleansing milk. So I spray a little rose water and olive oil on a cotton swab and wipe it gently from my eyes. It comes out easily without tugging or pulling my eyes.
  • I love how intense the colours are.
  • The liner does not feather or bleed at all.

Why should you NOT buy Colorbar I Glide Pencils?

  • I like to work with sharp pencils. Since I Glide eye pencils are extremely soft, one swipe on an eye and the pencil becomes blunt. So I have to re-sharpen it . I am going to finish them up pretty soon.It is not to much ofΒ  a con as well for me because had these been retractable ones, I would have hated them.
  • While sharpening sometimes the tip breaks. Reason could be the soft wax.

Other than that I love these pencils. My problem with Colorbar I define pencils was that they were not soft enough to be able to glide easily on my eye lids. The I Glide Pencils have really sorted out my problem. Infact, I cannot carry pinks and purples on my eyes but Prunella is such a bright jewel purple that it brightens up my eyes.

But I have a feeling that colorbar is increasing its prices slowly.Β  There is a Rs 100 jump from I define pencils to I glide Pencils.Sigh!

  1. I really liked these as much as I like I-define. The colors Cocobar and Prunella are my favorite in this series πŸ™‚

  2. I love Prunella too :-))

Somehow the attitude of the staff in Colorbar counters put me off. And you know what? their I define pencils are showing extremely different manufacturing dates on the box and the pencil itself. And the staff is so ignorant that they don’t even bother to answer properly.

Sorry..I didn’t mean to complain in the comments section..I just bought Truffle yesterday. And rest of the colours, I got them from Maybelline Studio Liners

Btw, am so :beauty: with the concealer..Thank you so much for the recommendation

    1. Oh no, you can always complain he he. πŸ˜› Thank you for mentioning about the manufaturing dates thing, I would be extra careful. πŸ™‚

The white liner from Maybelline kind of feathers on my lashes I I have to use to pretty carefully. How are the other colours?

Aww!! Glad you are liking the concealer. :highfive:

  3. Poornima,

same pinch πŸ™‚ When I got blush and conealer – the outer cover shows 2008 date and inner container shows 2009 date… Did u happen to see I glide pencils anywhere…

Rati…Prunella color looks so cute.Going to buy this ….

    1. Haven”t faced this problem so far. But this is crazy. I only look at the manufacturing date on the box. :smug: My I glide pencils show the same date on box and on the pencils.

      Yes Prunella is nice. πŸ™‚

    2. Oh Vidhya.. You too noticed it?? I was kinda thinking they took me for a ride…

Thank god, the date on the pencil is newer…If not

I Glide is available in Star Bazaar, Koramangla..but only 2 colours..The SA was not even able to differentiate between the 2 varieties. So..I just bought the concealer and left the counter to prevent my “mercury levels” shooting up :reallyangry:

  4. gawd!

and yup, Colorbar IS increasing prices for any new launch, at a very higher margin

Rati, ur blog is just great and helps a lot
i am a impulsive shopper and buy any and every thing new!
but ur blog helps me take a call on the new launches!

    1. Neha I think I also have my love with COlorbar from past 5-6 years. I used to buy their tiny nail paint bottles and nail paint remover. πŸ™‚

      Thank you so much. πŸ™‚

    1. Yasmina, yes it does. πŸ™‚ Beyu, and Chambor have eye pencils in nude colour. I think Maybelline also has. Not sure though. πŸ™‚

i wish u did Eye Of The Day πŸ™‚ 200% agreed on that sharpening part of pencils…thats the only pet peeve with pencil liners….apart frm pigmentation….

    1. I wanted o do eye of the day bt my eyes looked very tired today so skipped the idea. πŸ™‚

Come back soon and start buying colorbar. πŸ™‚

  7. thankssss thats gonna be my next buy after my exams and i think am gonna buy from this i glid range the purple and green my fav colors πŸ˜€ :inlove:

  8. Sounds great, think I would like Jade.

I forgot to tell you about oiling my hair, I did it on Friday, took some olive oil
from the kitchen and massaged it into my hair, from head to tips, it felt greasy
and gross and my hair went static, it was so freaky because it looked like my hair
had turned into some kind of animal, my hair kept moving up on all sides :S
I got scared from my own hair!

In the night I woke up a few times because my head got all itchy. I washed it out in the morning and then my hair felt quite soft but I don’t know if I have used a proper olive oil because my head is already starting to itch so I have to wash it again tonight. (Normally I wouldn’t wash it until wednesday) Did I do something wrong?

I just bought Amla oil and will try that out next time.

    1. I think The olive oil didn’t suit you. πŸ™ I get the same feeling when I use coconut oil. Coconut oil is so good for hair but it just doesn’t suit me. But I think you used the wrong oil as well. Olive oil from kitchen??

      Buy a hair oil.

So sorry for your hair. πŸ™

      1. Haha I thought I could use that olive oil ?:-)
I’ll try hair olive oil and I also could give the
coconut oil a try. I’ll let you know what suits me.
So what oil is perfect for you?

  9. This seems to be the perfect solution for someone like me who is too lazy to use a liquid liner but hate the hardness of pencil liners. Am glad someone has come up with a great product like this. Will surely but it!
And Rati, this is a great blog. I may not always leave a comment but I sure do read it regularly.
    :hugright:

  10. I too love the black out one…..it looks so black πŸ™‚ ….I have used other eyeliners and pencils, which dull blacks…this is perfect black.

    1. That’s the reason I love colorbar pencils. The colours are very pigmented. In fact The I Define pencil is as black as this one. πŸ™‚

  11. Have used it on waterline many times and have had no problems, so far. Regarding kajal collecting at the inner corner of the yes, do carry tissues with you and do a touch up or two during the day. Makeup does need touch ups. πŸ™‚

  12. Seems to me this is a dupe of the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil. I first thought Lakme’s Glide on Eye colour is a dupe of it.. seems like all Indian companies are happily copying their western counterparts and selling it cheaper πŸ˜› Well ..who’s complaining?! Certainly not me! I guess the biggies like UD and MAC hardly care about a few pesky dupes ..guess only if there’s a revolution and all Indian women suddenly start wearing makeup will they sit up and take notice.

    1. I am sure MAC must be proud that it is so good that companies are trying to become what it is today. πŸ™‚ I know what you mean. but I would so want that UD comes here. Especially I am dying to try UD’s eye pencils the the primer potion.

I am not complaining either. πŸ˜›

  13. wow, love the colors.

I am always looking for the darkest of black. What other pencils do you recommend to get the darkest shade?

Olive oil made today contains a lot of chemicals even when it says “pure”. One thing I use is any extra virgin Olive oil. It also moisturizes your skin. Just saying πŸ™‚

  14. Hey if ur pencil breaks while u sharpen it…if it doesnt get sharpened properly…heres a trick….put the pencil in the freezer in the refrigerator for 2 mins before u sharpen it….that way it becomes like a regular pencil when u sharpen

  15. Hi,
this might be a late comment but i really need to know this
does it stay well on the waterline? how is the color? how long does it stay on waterline?
    thx

    1. Hi Avani,

I have never applied them on the water line and neither does the company mention that it is safe to apply on the water line. So can’t really say how it stays on the waterline. Sorry!! πŸ™
