I love Essence makeup products; though a few of the products that I have tried were just average, most of them from the brand were really good. Today, I have come up with the review of “Essence Show Off Smokey Eyes Set.” Read on further for more details.

My Experience with Essence Show Off Smokey Eyes Set:
The product comes in a small rectangular grey-colored palette which closes with a clear lid. The lid shuts making a click sound and makes this small palette travel friendly. The lid has the brand’s tagline mentioned on it in silver fonts. The base of this palette has a grey-colored sticker, which bears some product details like how to use, price, shelf life, etc. This duo palette comes with a dual-ended eye shadow and eyeliner brush. I never use these small applicators that come along with eyeshadow palettes. The soft sponge applicator is for applying eyeshadow while the flat eyeliner brush can be used to apply eyeliner. This eyeliner brush has stiff bristles and feels rough on the eyelids. Overall, the packaging is sleek, lightweight and very travel friendly.
This palette has one eyeshadow and one liner shade. The eyeshadow is powdery and the liner has creamy consistency. The creamy eyeliner can be used as a creme eyeshadow too. The eyeshadow and eyeliner are gray in color. There is a very little variation in the shades. The eyeshadow is silvery gray in color. It looks almost ashy and has fine silver micro shimmers in it. On the other hand, the eyeliner is true gray in color. The eyeliner also has shimmer. I was actually a little disappointed with the presence of shimmer because I was expecting matte finish, but both the shades are decently pigmented. The color payoff is just amazing. One swipe of the eyeshadow is good enough to deliver an intense color. The eyeliner also gives an intense color with just one or two swipes, but while using it as an eyeliner along with the powdery eyeshadow of this palette, I do require multiple swipes to make the eyeliner pop.
You can create a gorgeous smokey eye look with this tiny palette in a few simple steps. The texture of the eye shadow and eyeliner is soft and smooth, they feel silky. There’s a bit of a fallout issue with the eyeshadow. The finish it delivers is amazingly soft and velvety. The eyeshadow blends beautifully in no time. There is no creasing even after hours of application. The creamy eyeliner glides smoothly on the lids without any dragging. The eyeliner sets to a nice semi-matte finish. The eyeliner is not waterproof or smudge proof. I have a habit of rubbing my eyes, which results in smudging of the eyeliner and gives me raccoon eyes. But, this is basically not a con, as I should stay a little cautious with makeup on the eyes.
The eyeshadow and eyeliner last for long on the eyes. The eyeshadow loses its intensity with time, it stays for approximately 4-5 hours on my eyelids with a little fading. The lasting power can be enhanced with an eyeshadow base. Overall, the palette is affordable and it’s a good quality product.
