I have been using Garnier face washes. I recently spotted this new one on the shelves and decided to pick it up. Wasabi is what attracted me to it! I thought wasabi was limited to sushi and when I saw this, I wanted to give a try. Today’s review is all about Garnier Pure Active Wasabi Power Ultra Purifying Fresh Gel Wash. Read on to know more.

My Experience with Garnier Pure Active Wasabi Power Ultra-Purifying Fresh Gel Wash:

The face wash comes in a green plastic bottle with a black pump cap. All the necessary information is there on the bottle. The product doesn’t come sealed. There is a lock mechanism on the pump that locks the pump and prevents any unnecessary press and leakage. The bottle is sleek and travel-friendly.

The face wash is gel-like, has a semi-runny consistency and a hint of green in it. You can notice the green only when you have the product in your hand. The product smells very fresh and amazing. It has a hint of citrus fragrance in it, and since it has a presence of green citrus extract, this is very dominating. I absolutely love the smell and it instantly perks you up.

The face wash lathers very well. A little product is more than enough for a thorough cleansing. It foams up a lot and I used more product than needed during the first time and my sink was filled with foam. However, this is due to the presence of SLS, which is a bummer. The face wash once rinsed off doesn’t leave any residue and makes the face squeaky clean.

The product adds a sense of coolness to the skin and refreshes it instantly. I absolutely love this one in the mornings as it wakes me up and removes my sleepiness. The product doesn’t make the skin dry and I’m absolutely amazed by this quality. But, a moisturizer is a must if you have dry/combination skin.

The product does control oil to a great extent. I have a very oily T-zone and the product helps me to keep this at bay for more than 4 hours. I would surely recommend this if you have oily skin. Even though it contains wasabi – a strong ingredient – it doesn’t cause any irritation or redness. It is suitable for sensitive skin too. The product doesn’t cause any breakout, and as per the claims, it contains purifying agents that get rid of oil, blackheads and visible pores.

I do not have blackheads so I am not sure of the claim but it does tighten the pores well. The product also adds a light glow to the face after the wash. The product claims to reduce imperfections but I haven’t noticed any of this yet. I guess it works in the longer run. Overall, it is a good cleansing gel. I absolutely love the freshness it imparts.
