My Experience with Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Immortal:
Pigmentation: I picked up the shade Immortal and I must say that it is quite pigmented. The colour is just fabulous.
Texture: The texture of the lipstick is not completely like a liquid lipstick; it feels a little bit like a mousse. It is quite thick in consistency.
First and foremost, I am in love with this colour; it’s a bold, rich red. Packaging-wise, the gold cap and clear bottle looks quite classy. The hydra matte lipstick collection has only 7 shades I guess and most of them are quite light for me. Most of them are mauve or nude kind of shades which I already have. Anyways, the pigmentation is quite good but the lipstick goes on a little uneven on the lips. It is a little blotchy which is really bad because I had to work a lot with it to get it all even on my lips.
Other than that, it doesn’t dry up instantly into a matte finish. It takes quite long to dry down completely and feels a little sticky throughout the day. Also, keep good makeup remover wipes ready with you when applying this because it stains like crazy. The stain did not go off my teeth and I had to brush it out. If it gets on your hands or face anywhere then you must take it off immediately. It is quite tough to take off which is a con because that is too much hard work.
Post the lipstick swatch on my hand, I had to go in twice with the makeup remover to take it off. Plus it settles into the lines of the lips and if you have super dry lips then you should use a balm underneath the lipstick. I put it on without a balm to see how it wears and stays on the lips. The lipstick contains bees wax and if you are allergic to it then avoid buying it. Besides all this, there is no fragrance in the lipstick and it doesn’t feel heavy or like I have lipstick on my lips. It does not transfer at all but that is only after it has dried up completely.
It stayed on my lips for 10 hours which is amazing because I had tons of coffee and food! However, the lipstick did not moisturise my lips at all. The product claims to moisturize and hydrate which did not happen at all. Overall, I would recommend people to use a balm before applying this. I must say though that this lipstick is not a must have one.
