Hi Everyone, 🙂
I remember back in 2016 when I really started going all out with my creative makeup looks, it was a glossy black smokey eye that I started with. I got a massive amount of both positive and negative comments. It was as if someone had shaken the sleeping audience some did not like what they were woken up to and some just wanted to see more and more of what they saw. I don’t get affected by negative comments easily because I really wanted to take that path and show you guys so much more of my creativity and my passion for makeup. It is quite an emotional post for me today because one, I see how far I have come in this journey and there is so much more I want to do. And two, you guys, you are the best people I could ever ask for. I just want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for accepting me for all my craziness and madness. And you know the irony of today’s look, it is one of the most requested look. 2016 to 2017 – it’s been an epic change and I only want to make it more EPIC as the days pass by. 🙂
Regarding this look, all you need is three things for eyes – a gel eyeliner, a shimmery eyeshadow and thick gloss. The beauty of glossy black smokey eye is that it is a bit messy, it lives a life of its own and it’s so imperfect that it creates a little mystery on your eyes. It’s an evening grungy sexy look that only wants to you go on the dance floor, leave your hair open and dance the night away.
Step 1 : Create a base for eyeshadow and gloss using a gel eyeliner. You can create any shape you prefer.
Step 2 : Pat shimmery eyeshadow on the centre of the lid.
Step 3 : Apply a thick gloss mostly on the centre of the lid. I always like using a MAC clear gloss because it is thick, very glossy and has the longest staying power than any gloss i have ever tried. Also, literally just pat the gloss and spread it slowly with the brush without really touching the base.
Step 4 : Finish off with mascara. Voila!
I have worn this look for 5 hours now, the eyeshadow has creased a bit and gloss has moved a bit but it still looks very put together and intact. Unless you are rubbing your eyes, you should be good with this one. This makeup looks is not for everyone but it’s worth a try. I dare you! 😀 And skin, well literally dripping in highlighters. 😀
Have a fantastic evening y’ll. :-*
