How are you ?
Its been sometime that I have written a review and guys I missed you all a lot. I have been travelling a lot in the past weeks and now finally I am back to India. So, hope the summers are treating you well .Here in Hyderabad its quite bad. It’s so hot and humid as well and to add to the woes, the indefinite power cuts .Boo hoo 🙁 Anyways, let’s get to the product which I will be reviewing today .It is a highlighter by Guerlain Terracotta both in matte and shine variant for face eyes and lips. To know more read on.
Highlighter for face, eyes and lips. Duo Matte & Shine is a playful, multi-purpose product with two different textures in the same case for quick and easy make-up application. This combination allows you to achieve two different looks: a natural, transparent and coloured finish with the powder-cream texture, or a glamorous, pearly and extremely radiant look with the cream texture.
A duo for each type of complexion or season: The Sable et Or n°1 Duo, for a golden colour all year ’round; The Dune et Miel n°2 Duo, for a light and natural tan; The Epice et Ambre n°3 Duo, for naturally bronzed skin.
It is priced at $40 for3.8gm.
My Experience with Guerlain Terracotta Duo Matt and Shine Highlighter:
This highlighter comes in a round brown rustic box with a pretty design .The design is the brand’s beautiful logo. Inside the box, the highlighters are neatly placed as two semi circles. There is a small mirror on the other side of the box which I find it cute .But on the downside there isn’t any brush or applicator provided which makes it a bit inconvenient and unhygienic to apply as I tend to use my fingers mostly for application.
As I mentioned, there are two types of highlighters: one has a matte finish and other is shiny. The matte highlighter is creamy in texture and is quite light when applied. I mostly use it as a bronzer to get a tanned look and it works excellent to achieve that. I have even used it as a base for glittery eye shadows and it works well there too.
The shiny highlighter is my absolute favorite I tend to use it almost everywhere. I have used on my cheeks above a blusher to give a natural glow, over my eyelids to give me a glamorized look or on my lips to give me a glossy finish. Let me tell you it has always given me results way above my expectations. It has superb blending property that just makes it perfect to use it anywhere.
I had picked up this highlighter just like that without much expectation as I was on a cosmetics haul. But this product has surprised me a lot not only is the quality so good but also the versatility of its use is awesome. Its so light that one can wear it easily to marriages, functions etc in this hot summers. Moreover, it stays for 5-6 hours easily with slight touch up needed after that. The quantity required is also very less for desired results.
Pros of Guerlain Terracotta Duo Matte & Shine Highlighter:
Cons of Guerlain Terracotta Duo Matte & Shine Highlighter:
• No brush or applicator.
• A bit expensive.
• Contains parabens.
5/5.I would say try it to believe it.
Will I Repurchase Guerlain Terracotta Duo Matte & Shine Highlighter?
Yes for sure. But I think it will take some time for it to finish as only a little amount is needed.
