Guerlain Terracotta Kabuki Bronzing Brush Review
Claims : The indispensable tool for a natural healthy glow! With its incredible density and high-quality goat hair, the Kabuki brush is perfect for applying bronzing powders. It can pick up more bronzing pigment than any other brush, which it “crushes” and smoothes generously onto the skin for optimal, even results. The complexion appears glowing and perfectly even, without a trace of make-up.
Application : Apply to the entire face in a circular motion to achieve a smooth, perfectly even and glowing complexion. Pay special attention to raised areas of the face: the curve of the forehead, cheekbones, nose and chin – the places that catch the sun most – to create the illusion of a real tan.
Price : Rs 3200/- / USD 52
My Experience with Kabuki bronzing Powder Brush :
I’d start by saying that if you use your bronzer just for contouring your face, you don’t need this brush. But if you are someone who likes a lovely overall bronzed / sun-kissed skin, this is a nice brush. We Indians are blessed with beautiful olive skin tone and in most cases, we don’t use an overall bronzing for our face. But people who are pale or very fair and want that skin-kissed glow, I think a hint of bronzer overall looks beautiful. You basically use bronzer of your face where sun would naturally hit your features – sides of the temples, bridge of the nose, cheeks, chin. Also, don’t forget to add bronzer to your neck.
This a dense round top kabuki brush. The bristles are made up of natural hair and it has a sturdy matte black handle. It is a fairly soft brush but I wouldn’t call it the softest brush I have used so far. But it is not scratchy at all. It is dense that helps to pick the product evenly. And it is fluffy enough that helps to distribute and apply the bronzer evenly. I sometimes use it as a contouring brush as well. But if you have really small face, this may not be the best for contouring.
I have used it as an overall bronzing brush as well. And I think it does it jobs perfectly. It’s the perfect size for a bronzing brush. Also, the brush is built in a way that your product does not go all over the place during application. I sometimes use it for applying blush as well.
I have washed it a couple of times and I have not faced any shedding of bristles. The only thing is that it takes long to dry up because of its dense bristles.
It is easy to travel with since it doe snot have a long handle and can fit a makeup pouch easily.
Overall, a good brush but it’s not the most amazing brush. I would have preferred it to be softer. I can’t call this brush scratchy but it is slightly rough. At this price point, I don’t think it really justifies its luxury brand tag. If given a choice, I wouldn’t repurchase it.
