Drugstore beauty products always come to our rescue when we are travelling or when we are running out of regular beauty stocks. This is one such product I discovered last time when I was on a tour. So let me start.
INR 130 for 200 ml
My Experience with Himalaya Herbals Dryness Defence Protein Shampoo:
Packaging: The shampoo comes in regular Himalaya shampoo bottle similar to all other products in the brand range. This bottle has pinkish red accents. The bottle is pretty sturdy and indeed travel-friendly
Smell and Consistency: The shampoo is creamy, pearl white in colour with a runny consistency. The smell is usual one – floral, herbal mix. Some may find it a little strong, but I am OK with it.
Results: I have medium length hair that is on the frizzier side. For me, a shampoo is working for my hair only when it imparts a healthy shine to tresses. I am a die-hard fan of Kerastase Discipline range. However, this brand is very expensive and drills a huge hole in my pocket, so I constantly alternate it with a normal drug-store shampoo.
Coming to the product, the shampoo is pretty well as a cleansing agent; I need minimum two washes to clean my oiled hair and scalp. The shampoo leaves my hair silky smooth, but the shine is minimum; obviously less than my expectation. If I have heavily oiled hair, then I need quite few more washes. The shampoo is pretty well in its job. But post hair wash, conditioning is must else by end of the day hair would turn into hay-stack. So it is a pretty average shampoo, but good one amongst it contemporaries in the local market.
Pros of Himalaya Herbals Dryness Defence Protein Shampoo:
• Travel friendly pack.
• Easily available.
• Does make hair soft and smooth.
• Helps keep dryness in control.
• Great for everyday use.
• Also is suitable for coloured or permed hair.
Cons of Himalaya Herbals Dryness Defence Protein Shampoo:
• Contains quite some chemicals.
• Doesn’t deliver dramatic results.
• Oily hair may require quite many washes.
• Some may find the smell a little strong.
Will I Recommend/Repurchase Himalaya Herbals Dryness Defence Protein Shampoo?
Yes, this is a great pick if you are looking for a normal daily use shampoo as it is comparatively better than chemical loaded shampoos present in the market.
This is good pick for daily use. The shampoo does help to keep hair moisturised, though it doesn’t deliver salon-like results. However it is really good being a drugstore product.
