Hi guys!
This is one of the products from my Korean haul. Once I swatched it, I immediately picked it up. I don’t want to say it was an impulse buy, but it was an impulse buy! 😉 Read on to find out more about it.
Product Description:
Laden dust seems to glitter with dazzling jewels attractive colors! Color Pencil features a powerful waterproof eyeliner.
Price:
Â¥880 in Japan ($9 on their website)
My Experience with Holika Holika 16 Black Plum Jewel Light Waterproof Eyeliner:
Packaging:
It comes in a simple pencil form with a protective cap. The cap is pretty sturdy and would not come off during travel. I would say try not to lose the cap, because the product can get hardened over time. It can be sharpened with a normal sharpener. It is 10 g in total.
Shade:
This product comes in 15 colours, according to their website. The shade was the primary reason for me to buy this product in the first place. The shade is a beautiful plummy purple. It is called #16 Black Plum. Some of the colours in the line have shimmer, but this one does not.
Consistency/Texture:
This product is so creamy and blendable; it is amazing. It has more of a satin finish. Usually, pencil liners are harder in texture, and it is difficult to blend them out without putting in effort. But, this one pleasantly surprised me. Once it sets, the product becomes waterproof, which means it won’t come off if your eyes get watery.
If your regular pencil liner catches in some spots or doesn’t go on creamy, try to warm the tip by making a few lines on your hand and then go on the waterline/eyeline with that.
Pigmentation:
The pigmentation of this one is really good. You don’t need to work on the liner at all; one swipe is all you will need!
Longevity:
As for longevity, it does set after a few seconds of application and is waterproof after that point. But it is important to remember that, if you are someone who keeps touching or rubbing your eyes, the product does come off. So, it is not completely smudge-proof.
How I Like to Use It:
I love using this as a base for any purple look. I have used it alone and blended out with a transition shadow in the crease and it worked beautifully. The thing to remember about this pencil, though, is that if you are using it as base for eyeshadow, it is better to work on one eye at a time.
Final Thoughts:
If you ever see this, immediately grab it! It is lovely and creamy and is a beautiful colour.
