Suggested Usage:
-Twist the ultra slim lipstick to reveal product and apply. Retract product down before recapping.
-Hold pointed end of the gold applicator, remove gold cap and pull out lipstick barrel.
-Remove black cap of refill shade, firmly pull lipstick barrel out from the cylindrical black base.
-Reconnect refill black cap and base with remaining lipstick.
-Hold pointed end of the gold applicator and insert new refill shade into opening until it clicks into place.
-Secure gold applicator cap after each use.

My Experience with Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Refillable Lipstick I Can’t Wait, I Live For:
Packaging:
Refer to the pictures and I will try to explain the packaging here. I am sharing pictures of both – the refillable lipsticks and the individual refills.
The Refillable Lipstick:
The refillable lipstick is this elegant and extremely questionable (coming to that in a minute) golden applicator. The applicator has a lot of heft and screams luxury. You separate the cap from the pointed end of the applicator to reveal a twist up lipstick. The lipstick is a thinner version of a regular lipstick with a slanted tip. Normally, I have issues with application – especially on the cupid’s bow – with a rounder, slanted tip lipstick.
However, in this case, it isn’t an issue because the lipstick itself has a smaller diameter and it hugs the cupid’s bow nicely. The shade name is written on the side of the lipstick barrel. So, if you have more than one of these you will need to open it each time and check the shade. The shade name is thoughtfully put on the side of the lipstick barrel and not on the golden applicator since the same applicator can be used to fit in another shade of the refill lipstick. The mechanism to change is extremely easy – the refill detaches easily and can be replaced quickly.
Coming to the questionable part – the golden applicator is reminiscent of the cigarette holders used by Western world – mostly women – from the 1910s to 1970s. They were made iconic by Audrey Hepburn (in Breakfast at Tiffany’s) and Lucille Ball (in I Love Lucy). Having said that, I personally wonder how ethical it is for a brand to glamourize smoking! Anyway.
Refills:
The refill consists of a black plastic lipstick case with a proper fitting cap. You pull out the cap to reveal the lipstick barrel. The lipstick shade is written on the side of the barrel as well as at the bottom. This bottom plug will actually need to be pulled out of the barrel to fix the lipstick into the golden applicator. While the golden applicator adds to the luxe feeling and the whole charm of the collection, you do not NEED the golden applicator. The refill can easily work on its own. The plastic case is in no way cheap plastic and is quite secure to use on its own.
A quick brief about the collection: This is like the naughty collection from Hourglass. All shade names reflect a “confession statement.” Like “I Desire” “If Only”, “I’m Addicted”, etc.
I Can’t Wait:
Described by the company as a “Vivid Fuchsia.” I Can’t Wait is a medium, stunningly bright fuchsia with a cream to satin finish. It is such a gorgeous shade – perfect balance of cool toned pink and purple. The shade would work across skin tones – all you need to couple it with is oodles of confidence to wear this bold shade.
I Live For:
Described by the brand as a “Vibrant Coral.” I Live For is a medium, bright orange toned coral with a twist. It is cool-toned and that is what sets this shade apart. Because, more often than not, brands make corals with a warm tone, especially anything which has orange in it. So, it is extremely refreshing to see this stunning shade or coral, which leans towards the cooler end of the spectrum. The shade should work for a lot of skin tones. Unlike a warm bright orange or orange-coral – which can end up making your teeth and skin look yellow and sallow – this actually just brightens up the face.
Texture:
The formula seems to be same across the shades, at least so far. Both shades have a nice creamy satin finish. The texture is a creamy, lightweight and glides smoothly over the lips without being too slippery. Once applied, they do not slide around. They adhere well to the lips. Both the shades are mildly hydrating. They are super comfortable to wear.
Being a creamy texture, it transfers easily to any surface it touches – cups, spoons, etc. And being a bold shade, the transfer is clearly visible. However, this does not seem to impact the pigmentation too much. It does not smudge outside the lip lines or feather or bleed. I did not see the need of using a lip liner with either one of them despite the boldness of the shades.
Pigmentation:
Both shades have amazing pigmentation. They are fully opaque in a single swipe. The brand promised “saturated” lip colour and that is exactly what they deliver. As I mentioned earlier, being a satin finish, it transfers to other surfaces it touches easily. However, the intensity of the colour on the lips does not seem to suffer much.
Lasting Power:
Both the shades are fairly long wearing and stay intact pretty much the whole day. I get about 7 hours wear with I Can’t Wait and about 6-6.5 hours with I Live For. They both leave a distinct stain which gives you about another 2 hours of wear. As it starts disappearing from your lips, it wears off evenly and does not look patchy.
Fragrance:
There is a slight fragrance which seems like an added perfume but it isn’t unpleasant to the nose. Having said that, do note that I could smell it only when I actually sniffed the product. I did not register it during application.
To sum this up for you:

• Lightweight texture.
• Excellent pigmentation.
• Very comfortable to wear – no feeling of dryness or clinginess.
• Easy to apply and get clean lines.
• It applies smoothly and evenly – no tugging or pulling.
• Does not flake or bleed.
• Luxurious packaging (though I have shared my contra opinion on this too).
• Good wear time – about 6.5 to 7 hours.
• Cruelty-free.
Cons of Hourglass Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity Refillable Lipstick I Can’t Wait, I Live For:
• The amount of lipstick is distinctly lower than what any other slim lipstick offers. But then, Hourglass isn’t really a drugstore or even mid-priced brand. They have positioned themselves consciously as a luxury brand and make no apologies for it.

I know it reads like the same thing I wrote about the previous shades I reviewed. But I love how consistent the formula has been across all the shades that I have tried. And this is amazing form the customer’s perspective. Why? This means that one can pretty much pick any shade from the line without having to wonder – “Oh! But this shade has not been reviewed, I wonder if this performs as well. Who knows!”
So, I was testing this shade “I Can’t Wait” around the same time as I was testing the Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Lipstick in the shade Candy Venom. Both are vivid bright bold fuchsia. If I had to pick one between the two – price not being an issue – I’d go for “I Can’t Wait”. I find the shade a little more unique. The balance of pink and purple is beautifully flattering and the ease and comfort of wear are unparalleled. And the packaging! <3 <3
