Hourglass Raven Panoramic Long Wear Lip Liner Review

This review will be on the Hourglass Panoramic Long Wear Lip Liner in the shade “Raven.”

My Experience with Hourglass Raven Panoramic Long Wear Lip Liner:

I love how this lip liner is dual ended, one side features the lip liner and the other side features a pointed triangle-shaped brush. The brush feels like it has natural bristles.  With a few uses, it tends to lose its shape and the bristles start sticking out in all directions. Also, it also tends to have product accumulation on it and that can be difficult to clean. The pencil needs to be sharpened frequently.

I do not find the brush to be useful to brush out the liner since the liner is a dry product and clings to the lips.  It’s not easy to spread around, but I do use it sometimes to spread red lipstick over the liner with precision. This brush is not my favorite by any means, but it is good to have on hand.

Texture:  This lip liner is very smooth and soft. It does not drag or tug during application and goes on smoothly on the lips. It does not cling to my dry areas nor does it accentuate fine lines. Having said that, it is always best to exfoliate before using lip products for much better results.

Shade:  The shade “Raven” is a beautiful orange-based red. It goes not with full matte finish yet it does not feel too drying on the lips. It has a slightly tacky feel when you press your lips together, but it is not bothersome. The shade “Raven” works very well as a base for most red lipsticks with a similar orange undertone or it can be used on its own too or topped with a gloss. This shade brightens up the face and will work with all skin tones.

Staying Power:  This lip liner is quite long wearing. It does last for 6-7 hours without any drinks or eating after which it starts to fade. With drinks and a light meal, it stays for about 5 hours. It does fade evenly and does not bleed. Overall, this is a very good product. I especially like the fact that this does not feel the least bit drying on my lips and does not tug during application. I will recommend this.

Cons of Hourglass Raven Panoramic Long Wear Lip Liner:

• Expensive.
• Needs to be sharpened.
• The brush on the other end is not too good in terms of functionality.
