Illamasqua Flare lipstick is a part of Illamasqua’s Toxic Nature Collection.
Flare is a yellow based orange lipstick with medium to buildable pigmentation. It has matte to satiny finish. It looks and feels a little drying on lips but if you like matte lipsticks, you’d like this one as well. I suggest that you definitely wear a lip balm underneath this.
I have been looking for an orange lipstick for a very long time. I have tried so many orange lipsticks from different brands but most of them were either too bright for me too pull off or they were not true “orange”.
Flare came as a pleasant surprise. It is true orange- no pinky orange or peachy orange or coraly orange or reddish orange. It’s just “ORANGE”.It has slight neoinish touch but you can totally tone it down.
I love how I can build it up. I love how matte it looks. I love that it is bright but not as bright that I can’t wear it to office.It’s not striking against my complexion.
I am so extremely happy to have this lipstick.
Here is me wearing this lipstick. I have applied the lipstick with a lip brush because:
1. I didn’t want it to look “madly” orange. I prefer this much intensity and this is how much I can easily pull off. 😀
2. The base of the lipstick I felt was very weak. Even while swatching I felt that the lipstick would break so I didn’t want to take any chances.

Tapaswini coz I applied with a lip brush. That sort of brought the intensity down and sort of in my comfort level. :))
In the swatches it looks nicely pigmented but I aslo feel that the amount of colour which u have applied on your lips is just ok warna day time mei it will look a lil bright :manicure: :makeup:

Anuradha , it’s just that she has applied it too bright because may be she could pull it off. I couldn’t so I toned it down. :happydance:
I think one more mistake she did -from her pic that I saw-is that she bronzed her face too much-or may be it was the wrong foundation shade-which even spoiled her look-a bright face (as in your 2nd pic) is necessary to carry off of this kinda vibrant orange shade-and should be paired with minimal eye and cheek makeup ..IMO :makeup: :makeup:
yeah that was over bronzing Anuradha and she could anyway carry off that shade even without a bronzer and it would have looked so pretty. Orange is like red only. It is so bright that one imho, must keep the rest of the makeup minimal only. 🙂

Brinda , also depend son how you wear it. I sort of prefer the toned down versions. But some people can rock the hot bold oranges as well. so totally what you like. Also experiment with shades. May be you find one for yourself. :))
