My experience with Inglot Matte lipstick #408:

Packaging:
The packaging of this pretty matte lipstick is shiny black in color. The lid fits the lipstick quite snugly but, does not shut with a click. Rather, whenever I put the lid on top of the lipstick I feel a suction being created between both of them after which the lid slides down smoothly. However, I am not really convinced that the lid will not open up by itself if dropped down by mistake or when carried in a bag while travelling. Also, there’s a sticker on the bottom of the lipstick which indicates the shade name. So, if you happen to own more than one of these gorgeous babies you can easily spot the one that you are looking for by turning it upside down.

Shade:
I really hate it when Inglot number their products instead of naming them. If given a chance I would have named this shade as Red Hot. The shade of this lipstick is a orange-based red with absolutely no hint of shimmer or gloss.

So, I would recommend this shade only to the brave heart chics out there, the ones who are not afraid to sport a full blown red pout. In my opinion, this shade will flatter a majority of Indian skin tones. This really is a must-have shade for all Indian brides.

Texture and pigmentation:
Being matte, the texture of this lippy is quite drying on lips, it accentuates fine lines, exfoliation of lips prior application is recommended and if you have dry lips do not DARE to skip a lip balm underneath it.

However, when you apply it initially, it feels creamy and glides on easily (that is, when you apply a lip balm underneath. Otherwise, it might tug and pull). Also, it feathers a bit if not worn with a lip liner. It is superbly pigmented and you get 80% coverage in one swipe. It covers pigmented lips way too well.

Fragrance:
Unfortunately, I am someone who hates any kind of smell in her makeup products. Luckily, the fragrance of this lipstick is fruity-kinds which subsides eventually and is not at all nauseating.

Staying power:
Superb! It stayed on my very dry lips for about 4.5 hours when used with a lip balm underneath. Without a lip balm, it can stay on for like 5+ hours. Dupe! Dupe! Inglot matte lipstick 408 is often compared to everyone’s beloved MAC Ruby Woo. Only, it is said to have a somewhat better texture but, decreased staying power. Unfortunately, I don’t have MAC Ruby Woo with me to compare both the shades. I wonder why Ruby woo is mostly out of stock everywhere .

So, summing up the pros and cons

Pros of Inglot Matte Lipstick #408:

• Prettiest blue-based red.
• A close dupe of the famous Ruby Woo at a considerably lower price.
• Packaging is stylish, classy and beautiful.
• Texture is better than most matte lippies.
• Staying power is decent.
• Will suit a majority of Indian girls.
• Covers heavily pigmented lips.
• Does not have an annoying smell.
• Staying power is decent.

Cons of Inglot Matte Lipstick #408:

• I am not sure if the packaging is travel-friendly.
• Can be tricky for dry lips.

Other than this, I can find absolutely no con with this cute lippy.

Will I repurchase/ do I recommend Inglot Matte lipstick #408?
Yes, I might repurchase the same shade again if I am not able to lay my hands on Ruby Woo or if they don’t come up with anything better than this. I highly recommend this shade to all of you out there.
