I had picked up two matte lipsticks from Inglot and a couple of refills. These lipsticks are priced at Rs. 680 for 4.5 grams and I think I should have picked up more refills instead of these, but nevertheless, since I bought it, I am going to be using these as a base.
The other shade, Inglot Matte 411 that I reviewed earlier makes for a perfect nude base to any other lipstick, but this one I would love to wear it alone. I am experimenting these days and I am off bricks nowadays. I am more into hot pinks and pinky mauves and hence I picked up this one, which is not too hot or fuchsia (see comparison), but still it’s a bright pink and I think this shade would perk up any face or dull day.
I think this lipstick will suit fair-skinned girls with pink undertones to their skin. I would wear it with a blush like the Bourjois Brune Rose I had reviewed and a blue-based light eye liner pencil or even a soft smokey blue eye. Do tell me what would you pair such a pink with 🙂
As for me, I am new to such hot pinks or soft hot pinks 😛 whatever you may call it. I thought I must review something for all our readers from all color families. I have reviewed a similar fuchsia from Faces Cosmetics too recently which, really comes to my mind when I see this Inglot 419.
The deal with Inglot matte is that there are a few matte lipsticks when you go to the store and there is a plethora of those non mattes, soft shimmers, frosts variety. The mistake I made was to ask for mattes and not crèmes, which I think would have given me more choice. I was in two minds whether I must get more refills in place of this, but still, I thought it’s a nice way to test the waters with this one.
I love the shades, it would brighten up a rainy day. The texture of this lipstick is not so thick, its medium, its too matte and way too matte for my taste as well. I don’t like the feel of swiping this lipstick, because it feels dry even before its left to set after application, if you know what I mean. The Chambor lipsticks are creamy when applied and then set to powder matte after application, but this one is already too dry in the tube itself.
The lipstick would show up fine lines, feel a little too matte. I won’t say it dried out my lips, but did not do anything nice either. Like I said, its so matte that it makes for a very nice base for your other lipsticks. In fact, I would wear the Faces Flamboyant Fuchsia over this and it would stay on and on. This lipstick wears easily for 4 or more hours and fades off very evenly and beautifully.
The packaging of the lipstick is pretty, comes in a sturdy black metal that makes my heart melt. Its definite the highlight of these lipsticks. I am giving up on Inglot mattes, I am going to chose some nice crèmes next time.
I would compare it with the three lipsticks (shown in the pics), Faces Go Chic Flamboyant Fuchsia and the Pink Devil from Chambor Power Matte, both of which have been reviewed. The Chambor Pink Devil shows up lighter on the lips and hence, this one from Inglot is a perfect combo of a hot pink and a fuchsia, which makes it very wearable.
A nice shade though too matte for my taste, I would use it as base to many of my lipsticks. I don’t recommend this dry lipstick in the name of matte, instead try Chambor Powder Matte any day. Having said that, Inglot has some gorgeous non-mattes and refills as well.
