In this post, I would be reviewing a new type of sheet mask line that I had been wanting to try out since last year. It is the Innisfree Second Skin Mask range. I picked up the “Nourishing” variant. Previously, they had five variants; but now they have four. To know more about this sheet mask and how it fared for me, read on further:

How To Use:
1. After cleansing, use a toner to make your skin texture appear smooth.
* The second skin mask has a sheet of bio-cellulose in between the two mesh sheets.
2. Peel off one side of the mesh sheet.
3. Apply the stripped portion of the mask evenly across your face, taking care not to cover the area of your mouth and eyes.
4. Remove the mesh sheet on the other side.
5. Let it absorb for 10 to 15 minutes.
6. Peel off the mask. Dab your face to help the remaining ingredients become absorbed.
My Experience with Innisfree Second Skin Mask Nourishing:
The mask comes in a pale yellow packet. The packet is slightly bigger in length compared to other sheet masks from Innisfree. Apart from the variant, all other information on the front is written in Korean. It is a soybean fermented sheet, and as fermented skincare has been a rage in the Korea, I was instantly drawn to this. At the back, there’s an illustration depicting the process of making masks from this line in Korean language. The back also has a sticker with information such as price, ingredients and directions for usage in English.
The inside of the packet has aluminium for preserving the mask. The mask itself comes between two mesh sheets. At first, it seemed as if the thin mesh was part of the mask, but upon reading the instructions, I realized that the actual mask was the thin transparent gel-like substance between the two mesh sheets. The sheet mask was soaked in essence, and did not have a particularly strong fragrance (which I liked).
As directed, I removed the thin mesh from one side. The actual mask was almost invisible. I applied the mask on my face carefully, and then peeled off the mesh from the other side. I almost tore it in two places. Moreover, the mask is like cling film; it sticks to itself if folded. I left the mask on my face for a good 20 minutes, more than the duration mentioned in the instructions.
My face felt supple and plump after removing the mask. I patted in the excess. It took a while to absorb, but by morning, it was fully absorbed. My face looked fresh and well moisturized as well as nourished after using this mask. It also removes fatigue from my face and the effect did last for a few days.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Innisfree Second Skin Mask Nourishing?
For the winter months, this would be a great pick me up for my skin. I would first try the other variants and decide the best for me. If your face is showing signs of tiredness and dehydration, go for this mask. If you are interested in trying a different type of mask, this should be on your list. It fares slightly better than the regular “It’s Real” sheet masks, and gives an additional luxurious feel.
