In this post, I am going to share my views on Jane Iredale Smooth Affair For Eyes Eyeshadow Primer in the shade “Canvas.” It’s a creamy, powder-based formula which works as a primer for the eyes. It can be applied as a mono eyeshadow; to get a sheer, luminous finish. Canvas is a sheer champagne shade. Do read on further for more details.

How To Use:
Apply to the eyelid, blending well with camouflage brush or finger. Can also be used to highlight the face and lips.

My Experience with Jane Iredale Smooth Affair for Eyes Eyeshadow Primer:
I wanted to try Jane Iredale Smooth Affair For Eyes for quite some time. I have used eye creams previously, but never an eye primer. Well, it was high time that I invested in a good primer. I was looking for a sheer, neutral shade to apply under all eyeshadows and that’s why I picked the shade “Canvas,” which is a sheer champagne color.
The name “Canvas” means preparing a base on which you can paint beautifully. It comes packaged in a tiny, transparent, glass jar with a golden-coloured screw cap. It does have a good quality inner plastic cap for additional safety. This tiny jar comes in a white-coloured cardboard box. Packaging is definitely travel friendly.
This shade is mildly pigmented and gives a sheer finish to my eyes. It has a creamy, velvety lightweight texture which applies smoothly and beautifully. It can be applied using a brush or fingers. I prefer using my fingertips since it enables even application in comparison to using a brush. I apply it all over my upper lid, in the crease and the eye contour area under the brow, creating a base to work on. This primer works well for me, gives a sheer, luminous finish to my eyes. I first apply my eye cream, let it soak in and then I apply this primer.
As mentioned above, I have normal to dry eye contour skin which is sensitive. It does not dry or irritate my sensitive eye contour skin. Lasting power is six hours and above on my non-oily eyelids. The formula is definitely creamy but not thick or sticky. The velvet texture enables smooth application and gives a beautiful finish. It does not smudge or crease, and can be used as a sheer eyeshadow or a base shadow. I basically use it as a primer-cum-base shadow. Now, I understand the importance of wearing a primer. I am very delighted that I bought this primer in the shade “Canvas.” It helps my powder eyeshadows apply smoothly, evenly and glide easily. It also helps increase the impact of the eyeshadows by giving it a lustrous finish and enhances the lasting power and the finish of the eyeshadows.
This quantity will last for quite sometime, even if used regularly. It is suitable for normal to dry skin types in all seasons. Oily eye contour skin types can use a powder base under this primer or probably skip this formula. This creamy formula contains mineral powder, which makes it suitable for all skin types. However, in my opinion may not suit or perform well on oily eyelids.

I do recommend this eyeshadow primer. This quantity will last for quite some time. I may not repurchase this shade, but opt for a different shade from this range.
