I hauled a bunch of Jouer long wear lip crèmes and have been loving them a lot lately. Read on to know to more about the Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme in the shade “Noisette.”
This weightless, long-wear liquid lipstick offers full coverage color with a soft-touch finish that glides on smoothly and lasts all day.
My Experience with Jouer Noisette Long-Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick:
Packaging: This lip crème/liquid lipstick comes in a clear tube which is great to be able to spot the color you want from your collection. I don’t like how tiny the top handle is, which at times, can make it inconvenient to hold the wand comfortably. The wand applicator is a thin and precise doe foot.
Texture/Consistency: The formula is quite similar to Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in sense that it has the same creamy slightly mousse-y consistency. It glides on the lips evenly without streaking or bunching up. The dry down time is not too short which gives you enough time to work with the lip color before it sets.
Finish and Feel on lips: Now the way it dries and feels on lips is way different that than Kat Von D ones, which is the reason, I will consider this Jouer version slightly subpar when compared to the KVD. It dries on to a complete matte finish with a powdery feel on the lips (which is very similar to how the Lime Crime Velvetines feel). This is not a deal breaker as this lip crème is still very comfortable almost undetectable on the lips unless your happen to press your lips together or lick your lips which gives you the awareness of the powdery feel.
This lip crème just like every other liquid lipstick can be unforgiving on dry patches on your lips so make sure to have your lips well prepped, exfoliated and moisture before using. I also found the Jouer version to slightly emphasize the lines on my lips; it does not have a smoothing formula.
Shade and Finish: The shade “Noisette” is a warm-toned chocolate brown. The 90s brown lips have made a comeback what better way to get on this bandwagon with this gorgeous liquid lipstick version. This shade is said to be a close dupe to Kylie lip kit in Dolce K. I find this shade to be very flattering on my light-medium skin tone. It has a tendency to look ..ahem “poop-ish” on some skin tones, but you could pair it with a mauve-y brown lip liner to make it more flattering (See LOTD). This shade dries down completely matte.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation and coverage is superb. One layer gives you complete opaque color with no need to layer on.
Staying Power: Staying power is fantastic. It lasts for a good 8-9 hours (even more if I would let it stay) with minimal snacking and drinking breaks. A full meal especially, if it is the oily kind, will break down the formula. This liquid lipstick does not take well to reapplication over an existing layer, you will need to wipe your lips clean and start over for best results hence it is not a low maintenance-the touch up in your car kind of a product. Nothing short of a makeup remover will help you get this off your lips at the end of the day.
Fragrance: This lip crème has a strong sweet scent, exactly like vanilla frosting. It smells yummy and does linger, so if you are sensitive to scents you may not like this.
Overall, I am quite pleased with this product. I do love the shade range of the Jouer lip cremes which comprise of both matte and metallic finishes (which are some of my favorites from this whole line), which gives it a leg up in competing against my favorite KVD ones (which has only all matte finishes as far as I am aware). I will recommend this product.
In the LOTD, I have used the Jouer lip crème in Noisette paired with Too faced lip liner in Perfect Spice just as an outline to lips (lips are not filled in with lip liner prior).
Pros of Jouer Noisette Long-Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick:
- Lightweight feel on lips.
- Smells delicious like vanilla cupcake frosting.
- Beautiful range of shades comprising of both matte and metallic shade.
- Opaque coverage in one layer.
- Super long wearing.
Cons of Jouer Noisette Long-Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick:
- The wand can be a bit uncomfortable to hold.
- Not suitable for those sensitive to fragrance in their lip products.
- Does emphasize fine lines on the lips no matter how well you exfoliate and prep. It’s just not a smoothing formula.
